First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to Pat (a.k.a Oh6gdx) for this beer. he is a generous and kind guy for hooking me up with the beer and the bigger brother - the Kaggen! I am eternally grateful. As for the review - this beer is fantastic! The bottle was a 2008 and it was simply amazing. The lacing, the flavor, the aroma - too complex to describe. The beer would've received a perfect score, however, I had the Kaggen! side-by-side and in my book, the Kaggen! is better by a hair. The alcohol is hidden supremely, however, when judged next to the Kaggen!, you would swear that it is a skosh hotter (and by hot I do NOT mean boozy - this beer is damn near perfect). Finally, thanks to mdsmith for sharing this gem with me before moving from Perry Hall - it was a great night hanging out with my best bud! (Btw, MdSmith liked the Stomaktsporter better than the Kaggen!)

Dark brown/ruby red colour with brownish red head. Aroma of burnt sugar, roasted malts and alcohol. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol and malts. The alcohol gives a very "warming" feeling. A porter brought to the extremes. Superb!

RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. ABV was 9.0%. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Lovely vinous oaky aroma with raisins and roasty notes. Roasty flavour with coffee and oaky (fortified wine) notes. Simply an excellent beer from my favourite Swedish brewery.

(sampled draught at Ardbeg Room) Black as coal. Small brown bubbly head. sweet powerfull aroma of figs, marzipan, syrup, and turkish coffee. Bold full flavour of black coffee, cream with a small vinóuse tone. Long sweet coffee bitter aftertaste with hints of tobacco and salt.
