Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a light to medium cloudy brown with a small off white head. Smells of caramel and butter. Tastes of caramel, butterscotch with a mild hop bitterness. Finishes dry. Really thin

A good malty ale that pours a thick white head.and has aroma nutty taste that is just a little bit tart. The mouth feel is thin and watery but over all I would say it's just pretty average.

Very light in the foam,Lighter red in color.Kind of low in the aroma and flavor too. Has a clean after taste. Not a bottle conditioned beer gotta like that . Overall , not real high ratings with this brew.

Pours a dark copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. The aroma is of malt sweetness and a bit nutty. Nothing bad just a bit bland. The taste has the flavor of caramel sweetness, nuts and a bit tart. Nominal bitterness with a fairly clean finish. Again just a bit bland. It has a fairly moderate body, smooth and a bit creamy.

An avearge amber ale that was true to form and unhateful while remaining totally anonymous in every characteristic. Amber color, moderate head, hints of sweet malt and caramel... you get the picture.

a standard amber...well balanced with caramel and nutty malts, and a touch of citrus and bittering hops. nothing stands out, but nothing was off either. one of those i'd have again if it were offered but wouldn't buy.

Poured a dark amber color without any head at all. And as a slightly cloudy look. The malts ha a hint a earthy smell. Taste was slight sweet with a hop bit that was not overpower.

Deep orange to amber in color. Almost copper in color. Off white head that dissipated rather qucikly and didn't leave much lacing. Partly cloudy also. Was expecting a clearer beer for this style. Malt and hops in the nose. A bit of an earthy smell. Actually rather sweet in the smell. Just a touch of caramel hides underneath. Also, detecting the slightest hint of butter. Taste was sweet malt with little hop bite, but some is present at the very end. Not bad really. Not overdone with malt, but enought to make me want another sip and to keep it interesting. Actually, has a fairly thin mouthfeel, but it is somewhat dry in the finish. Crisp. Does a decent job of hanging around in the throat until the next sip. this is a decent brew. Not outstanding, but nowhere near horrible. I like it ok and would give it a second try if someone offered. Beats any "macro' by a long shot in my opinion.

A light amber colored beer. Hardly a head. Soapy textured and white. Hang time is irrelevant. Thwere;s no lacing. Let this one warm or the notes in aroma and flavor are singular. Light notes of caramel malt, mostly malt, but after some deliberative sipping I detected some citrus. The body is as light though smooth. It migt work as a session beer. But I wasn’t impressed.

Aroma of grain and malt, body was a nice amber, the head disolved into a light film that didnt leave much lace. Flavor had some light hops on a malty base. Overall it is a pretty standard amber, very middle of the road.
