Blue Point Octoberfest is another palate-pleasing seasonal brew. Originally brewed in 1810 to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Blue Point continues the celebration by traditionally brewing this special malty amber lager every October. Octoberfest lager is stored cold for 2 months to ensure its distinct smooth flavor. Tap a pint and celebrate the season!

poured a clear yellow with thin white head that dissipated and did not leave any lace. The aroma was sharp and so was the taste....sharp toward a weak bitter hop. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and ok carbonation.

Aroma is strong and malty with fruity and earthy underpinnings. Pours a clear, orangy amber with a fairly thick pale wheat head that leaves generous lacing. Lip-smacking flavor has a malty core and firm tones of cloves, fruit and honey. Smooth texture has average body and fizz. Happy Autumnal Equinox - in the northern hemisphere, anyway.

An amber colored beer with a big frothy textured white head rising above. there's some hang time. It settles eventually into a moderate ringlet with light dusting of film. Caramel in nose and taste. Some light grassy hops. Light bodied, smooth.

Another sample of the flood of Oktoberfests out there this season. On the lighter side, but smooth mouthfeel. Probably a tad better than average in this style. Thin orangish to light brown appearance. Wanted to try a single first before deciding on a 6-pack, but will probably pass on this one. Good to try though, and would recommend at least once.

12 oz. bottle. Poured a clear medium amber or beautiful copper colored beer with a good one finger slight beige foamy head that had a mid-sized retention. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is bready malts, biscuits, presence of caramel. The flavour is mild sweet malts, bready, a touch of toasted malts, slight herbal hops. The mouthfeel is slight crispy and slight watery. This light to medium bodied beer has a slight bitter finish. Surely not a bad beer at all but too far away from a Fest-beer.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a mug. There appears to be no freshness date on the label. Appearance: The body has a deep golden to light amber color with very good clarity and lots of carbonation. Its head is just off white in color and fades down quickly to just a wispy thin layer which makes very little lacing. Smell: In the nose there are notes of pale light malt, biscuits and a very light touch of herbal/floral hops. There is also a light sweetness and something that reminds me of smartlys candy. Taste/Palate: It has a base of light roasted malt, grain and some biscuity flavors with mild sweetness. Hop flavor is light, mostly floral with some leafy and citrus notes on the finish. The finish also has the mildly sweet malt turning dry and crisp with more of a raw grain and husk character. The body has a light to medium feel and its carbonation is quite lively and a bit fizzy on the palate. Notes: The head retention was a bit of a let down for me but it was still a tasty Oktoberfest style beer. It was a little bit lighter in color and body than most but it was very drinkable.
