Poured a pale gold color with little head. I sniffed and sniffed and just couldn't get much of an aroma, slightly hoppy at best. I had heard good things about this beer, so I couldn't wait to taste it, but I was disappointed. If I had to sum up this beer in one word: bitter. I don't mind a good bitter, but that's about all I could taste in this beer. Maybe a hint of lemon but I think it really was my mind looking for some other flavor. Wish I could say more but that's about it. ClashRocks got it just about right when he said, "It tastes like someone dumped a bunch of hops in an Amstel Light."

A very pale straw color, pours with a dense white head. This one has a grassy aroma. The first taste is one of subdued sweetness (though this beer is quite dry). It finishes with a clean bitterness without much in the way of hop flavor. This beer is all about the bittering hop, it is very light and dry. A very nice refreshing summer beer.

Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is big fruity aroma with some hints of wood and vanilla. Flavour is mainly hoppy along with some caramel. Quite watery IPA in my opinion.

Compared to other IPA's this is not a bad choice, but there are better. Pours a golden yellow with a thick lasting head. Decent enough carbonation level. The flavor is ok, but just not as intense as I would expect from an IPA.

There's just nothing even "good" about this beer. Appearance: Think "Bud" with a better head. Much better, actually, the lace trailed down the sides of the glass beautifully. Sadly, nothing about this beer says "IPA" but the bottle claiming to be "a faithful reproduction of the famous 19th century pale ale." I guess I'd need to see the origonal. There's a chance I've had two bad bottles since both of them smelled and tasted a bit on the skunky side. But considering that nothing else about this beer was good, I'm thinking not. There's a bitterness to it, but even that it blah. This is sad considering I really like Grant's Deep Powder and Scottish beers. I *really* hope I just had bad samplings.

Pours a very yellow color with a thick foamy white head. The aroma is nice and hoppy. Looks like a wheat beer when poured. Very light hop flavor with an aftertaste that reminded me of as though somebody made me eat a nasty flower or something. Needs work.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a decent white head. Aroma is weak, but has hints of citrus and floral. Flavor could be stronger, but it has a nice balance of malt and hops, with a nice bitter aftertaste.

11 Feb 04, bottled on 9/30/03. Color hard to tell in this frosted plastic cup (someone buy my Grandma some proper glasses please!), it seems to be a clean straw color. Smallish head, but creamy and fairly lasting. Aroma is of fresh malts, and bright Cascade hops, but they don’t really come together. A bit of wheatiness—too much for me—that gets in my way in the middle of the flavor; a bit too much malt in front, too. The hops come in surprisingly potently at the finish and linger. I may be getting some flavor distortion from the plastic cup, but not likely much. A pretty good find in this wasteland of beer stores that is Florida; bonus points for that.

Pours clear yellowish color with small white head. Aroma is a sweet, floral smell. Taste is very bitter and hoppy. Not as good as I would have hoped, but not bad. Bitter aftertaste. Not a bad beer, but kind of a let down for an I.P.A.

This left a funny taste on my tongue. I wasn't too impressed. Not much aroma. There are better IPA's out there.

Decent hops flavor and some dryness. Light gold color and a little white head. Ok bitter aftertaste. Has enough malt to balance the flavor.
