2010 batch (cab franc grapes). I thought I'd love this one, and I just liked it. Victoria was it's superior in a couple areas, which really surprised me (though it could have been the age). Nice grape accents and atouch of tart, smooth, easy drinking and a bit spicy and sweet.

Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is raisins, dark fruity notes and some mild spices as well.. Flavour is caramel malts, mild raisins, some slight wood as well as earthy notes.

I've now had both the Victor and the Victoria, and both are very good beers. A cloudy pour, mainly amber, and a tan head. The yeast is notable in the aroma, along with some fruit, and funk. The flavour is slightly tart and champagny, balanced and dry.

Aroma - light grape, spices (nutmeg lept out at me), honey, general maltiness, light toasted bread
Appearance - hazy golden/amber body, smallish 1/4" white head
Taste - malts seem to dominate the palate with this beer. Some light (really light) vine notes are present, but they are stuck under the malt barrage. Finishes fruity.
Overall - man, for the price of this, this was a major disappointment for me. Incredibly overpriced for the pedestrian beer that awaits. -

Free hat, Free hat!! Pours a dark gold, sweet lacing .. .wow, very Belgian-like feel.. . light honey, Belgian yeast, saffron, and light white wine aromas .. . as a matter of fact, i think it's the nicest hat I've ever known .. . light sweetness, but very big taste .. Nice stuff, but the price and general enjoyment, once is enough.. . quality though, damn you tophat!!

First product from these guys in a while. Aroma is soft with some vinious aroma and carmelized candy sugar with some faint saaz hops perhaps with some cdark grapes and faint funky barnyard hay. Appearance is a golden amber in color when held to the light with a full head on top that is off-white in color and well-carbonated and remains leaving creamy lacing on the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with some interesting complexity as well as balance with a palate that is wet-like. Flavor is of caramel malt and carmelization with some Belgian yeastiness and tannins with an aftertaste that is of dark grapes and a finish that is clean, crisp, and very tasty. Overall, nice ale here and would pair well with food but is also fine alone; recommended brew here for sure...

Bottle courtesy of Jay23: Poured a deep hazy copper/orangey color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with light grape taste. Taste is a quite complex mix between some light grapes, sweet Belgian malt with some yeasts attenuation and a light funky finish. Very light notes of oak and tart notes are also noticeable. I find this beer to be quite good but not sure I would purchase very often considering the price tag.

Pour was orange with smallish head and some lacing. Weak aroma of musty fruit. The flavor in this was heavy spices, yeast out the wazoo under a strong grapey/peachy base. Mouthfeel was really carbonated, but it needed to be because it was sweet. This beer was really yeasty and reminded me of Unibroue beers. Good effort.

Pours an orangey amber color, off-white colored head, generous in size, yields good lacing. The aroma was full of grapes, lots of Ally Belgian yeasty notes (the spicey-ness), other lighter fruits. The flavor followed the aroma, lots of grapes for sure, peaches, a pretty nice blending of flavors, candi sugar, honey, phenolic spicing. Mouthfeel is full, pretty gassy (but in a good way), somewhat of a bready yeasty cleanup to things at the end. Nice one, Allagash.
