16oz green glass bottle pours with a clear deep gold body that supports a nearly bright white head of foam. The frigid cold aroma offers up some spicy earthy hops that border on faint onion dankness. Mostly masked by the cold are snippets of sugar sweetness that murmur out of the glass from time to time. The taste starts with malt sweetness and a bit of sweet pear fruity esters. It then picks up mild hoppy notes that are spicy, a dash dank and floral. While very cold this isn’t too bad. I expect as it warms the sweetness will ramp up. I’m digging the hoppiness. I actually need to bump my rating up higher. This is one of the better Pale Lagers I’ve had. I might even buy another one of these, that’s never happened for me with this style.

Watery is the key word here. No slunkiness but pretty lame and generic with a little metallic taste mixed in with the sweet corn and slight hay. Not one that will be revisited.

500 ml capped bottle. Poured a clear golden-yellow coloured Pale Lager with a two fingers white pillowy creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is grainy malts, corn, hay. The flavour is hay, water with a vague corny additive and a faint touch of a hoppy bitterness. The mouthfeel is creamy and overall watery. This light to medium bodied Pale Lager has a dry corny finish. Not really bad but I consider the try as not converted.

Not sure about this one. Another pale lager, not really expecting much but it wasn’t horrible. Aroma is light malts, subtle honey notes and a touch of bread. Flavor of old malts, with some metal-like notes. No noticeable skunk. Dry finish.

Review from Feb 2007 Two beers that start with "Z" in the same night? A sign of, well, crummy beer. Light gold brew, not totally clear, a white bubbly cap that sticks around for a bit and leaves some ropy lacing. The smell is pretty much corn, grains and light but sweet fruits... I guess there is a light spice and a metallic quality as well. Ick. Sweet fruit and corn and ick and grass and metal and ick. Finishes almost down the drain cause I just drank something like this the beer before.

From 99 Bottles of Federal Way, WA. Bought this only to knock off Bulgaria as a new country. I was expecting a typical "Iron Curtain" lager, but this was sub-par. Pouring out the mandatory clear light gold beneath the de rigeur skimpy white head, the aroma was indescribable. That is, until I read the comment of the other reviews. A bit of hop sure, but skunked it was. Taste was "tinned"; odd for a bottle pour. Mouthfeel was thinner that desired, and a trace of sweet at the finish. No more Zagorka for this kid.

I picked this beer up in my continual search for beer from every corner of the brewing world. I thought I was drinking another swill from the people of Anheuser. Not it was Bulgarian. Hops impart an acidic taste. So much for Bulgaria in my search of immense possibilities.

Oh wow. Picked this bottle up at bevmo mainly because it was from Bulgaria which I didnt yet have on my countries list. This beer is horrid. The aroma is so skunky that it makes me think of that old milwaukee guy. The appearnce puts the word PALE in pale ale. I dont know if Im going to be able to finish it.

Wow, this will be my first ever Bulgarian brew and I really have no clue what to expect but I assume, judging by the color of the bottle and the style, this will be like any other foriegn swill brew. The aroma is to some extent metallic with some strange sythetic aromas that I can't quite place and has some skunk coming through as well as some corn and grain aromas. The appearance is a very pale golden yellow with a small head on top that diminishes to a light lacing that adheres to the glass and is white and bubbly in appearance. The mouthfeel is light-bodied with some weak sweet malt complexity with not much in the way of balance with a palate that is light but wet-like and is not all that bad. The flavor is of grain, synthetic corn, sweet malt, and maybe some slight hoppiness with an aftertaste that is not too bad but is a bit metallic but at least unoffensive with a finish that is fresh and decently smooth with some refreshing qualities. Overall, this is your typical Euro swill lager, nothing else, but at least it is unoffensive and very easy to drink and not as bad as I originally thought it would be; average brew here for sure but very drinkable.

Huge metallic skunkiness on opening - could immediately smell the skunk from 3 feet away. Skunkiness dissipated quickly and sourish malt nose settled in. Bright golden in color with a small, short-lived head. Mouthfeel is thick and a bit sticky - even in the aftertaste you still get this sticky sensation. Very bitter, astringent hop flavor up front that lasts into the finish. Metallic, minerally component also in the finish and aftertaste. Solid malt backdrop
