A very Australian beer thats likely to warm the cockles of both the pub-goer and the barbe-chef

750ml bottle into glass. Has that chemical vegetable smell most CUB beers have. Reminds me a little of chlorine. Yellow/amber with thin white head. Highly carbonated. Taste is sweet then WHAM! full on tinny vegetable aftertaste. I’ve always wondered what the difference between this and VB was, now I know. This is slightly less gag-inducing.

Only had a few chances to try while down in Melbourne. Very good for the price. Not much different from VB. Dont listen to the other American commenter; Fosters is piss.

Let me see if I can bring some sense to this review, as it sure in the hell isn't the 2nd best beer in this catergory. I think a few overzealous Aussies pumped this so high, it may have a hard time coming back down. Had a fellow beer geek club member bring some back with him on his trip home. The aroma was very sweet, almost honey like and slightly floral. Appearance is a pale yellow/gold color, decent head (nothing really extraordinary). Mouthfeel was really watery, but don't expect much from a pale lager. Flavor wasn't too bad. Mostly malt but if you dig way deep down you get a little hint of caramel. Overall I'd say not quite as good as Fosters Special Bitter, but better than Victoria bitter.
