Bro-in-law beer. Thinnish browny black pour, tan head, nice lacing. Roasted malts, sweet brown sugar, ample earthy hops, cocoa. Nice effort, thanks Jim.

As black in color a beer you'll find. My second today at WOB. Big light brown foamy head rising above. There's good hand time on the head. Leaves a light film and thick ringlet. U get chocolate in the nose and more of the same in the tasting with a strong butter coffee bean. Medium bodied and nice smoothness.

This is my last brew from Ybor Gold brewing; I started with their wheat ale and now I am finishing with their Gaspar's porter. The aroma is of some weak bready notes as well as some very faint chocolate with a hint of dirtiness aroma coming through which is strange. The appearance is a dark brown in color with a medium-sized head on top that is a light-tan in color and diminishes to a light bubbly lacing. The mouthfeel is lighter and too much so for the style in my opinion with some weak but present complexity of the palate that is wet-like. The flavor is malty, sweet, and offers some light creaminess as well as walnuts with an aftertaste that is smooth and creamy and a finish that is decent. Overall, this brew is very similar to the brown ale and I am a bit disappointed I must say so but all-in-all, Ybor Gold's beers are for the most part quality and good but nothing outstanding whatsoever; recommended brewery if you can find their mixed 15-pack.

Bottle. Poured a hazy brown color with a small, light-brown head. Slightly hoppy/plenty yeasty aroma, like a rye bread. Very slight lacing. Fizzy mouthfeel. Chocolate malt flavor, with a slight mocha coffee aftertaste. This is probably the definition of average, at least for a porter.

Medium brown color. Medium beige rocky head. Aroma is chocolate and dark fruit. A light to medium bodied porter. Malts are fruity and chocolate. Hops are slightly spicy. Nicely balanced. Very smooth taste. It seems very light bodied for a porter; itís more in the brown ale, schrwarzbeer, dunkel in style. But itís still a very drinkable and tasty beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
