A rich and creamy stout with lactose (milk sugar) and fair trade coffee added. With a huge malt body, notes of roasted coffee, and a sweet creamy mouthfeel, this is a robust stout crafted just in time for the holidays.

The beer pours a beautiful shimmering black with a creamy tan head. The aroma was coffee, roasted malt, chocolate milk and vanilla. The mouthfeel was full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was milk chocolate, coffee, and nuts. Loved it!

Sampled on tap at the brewery and from can: Pours pitch black with a small 1 finger tight cap - modest retention. Moderate carbonation. Aroma has big roastiness (both coffee and grains), light lactose sweetness and leafy hops. Light creaminess to the mouth feel but a tad thin. Flavor- big blast of coffee and roastiness in front, equal hop bittering right up front, finish sees the lactose sweetness emerge under the coffee...lightly bitter bite at the end. I think Wellington is onto something here - my 2 favorite stouts (milk and coffee) in the same glass. This was a fair attempt but needs more lactose and stiffer body and it would be great.
