This version of Ephémère calls itself a beer on lees with cranberry must. It is a skillfully crafted beer. Only seasonal, but not every year.

Pours an insane amount of foamy bubbly white head and has a golden, slightly hazy appearance. Big thick dirty lacing. Aromas are mainly malty and hints of yeast. Flavours have some Belgian yeast notes, light malts, very fruity. Getting much more of the cranberries in the finish. Quite faint in the mix at the beginning. Tarty and full bodied mouthfeel. Pretty excessive carbonation.

Anyone who knows me, knows I absolutely love cranberries. Maybe it's because of my upbringing so close to the Ocean Spray cranberry bogs out on Cape Cod or maybe it's something else. Anyways when I found out that Unibroue did a cranberry version of their LEphemere, I absolutely went crazy. Unfortunately though, the only one I was ever able to find was the Apple Lephemere. On my last trip through Alaska, I was able to find this beer in multiple locations, so I gobbled it up.
This was as good as I had though it would be. I poured it into my glass and the first thing that hit me was a beautiful light tart smell that smelled amazing. The color was a weird color of orange with a reddish hue to it. Very unique. The head was a whispy white one that looked great in the glass.
Flavorwise, the drink was awesome. The beer was a light ale that had a wonderful balance of tartness and sweetness to it. I was so glad that they really didn't over do it with too much cranberry as this would have definitely ruined it and made it too tart. It just has very subtle hints of the cranberry.
I know this is a seasonal beer that is made every few years (not every year), but I would love to see it produced year round. This thing is awesome and was well worth the wait. -

Not tasting much cranberry flavor. Its a little candy-like... Mouthfeel is nice, like champagnesque. Otherwise not too much going on. PAle taste. Herbal citrus aroma. Some grassy type malt, light lemony citrus flavor. Im getting some lagerish notes. When i drink a fruit beer i want to taste the fruit more

I think this is my least favorite fruit beer from Unibroue. An aroma of unmatched fruits, I got blueberries instead of cranberries (how is that possible I don't know) and a little soap. Appearance is really light golden in color with a spritzy smallish head. Mouthfeel is alive and bubbly but not overly carbonated. Flavors were on the sweet side, light fruits with a bit of wheatiness thrown in.

This brew pours with a very pale, cloudy, yellow body topped by a very thick, white head with some lacing left on the glass. It sweet and fruity (cranberry) with a slight sourness. Not much else. Light bodied, crisp and dry.

Poured a golden color with HUGE soda head. Aroma was perfect for a fruit beer. Flavor was of funk cranberries and citrus fruits. Solid fruit beer.

Pale yellow color with okay head. Aroma was wheaty and sour. Taste is wheaty with peppery spice and some fruit that I guess is supposed to be cranberry but is really just sour barnyard funky. Mouthfeel is frothy and carbonated. Not a great beer.

Poured a cloudy wheat beer color (golden) with a very generous head, that didn't lace well. The aroma was excellent, nice wheaty, slight farmhouse aroma, with a good touch of cranberries. Light spicing was also in the aroma. The flavor was all of that plus some citrus-lemon type flavors, but hurt by the over-carbonation. Mouthfeel was moderate, dead on for the style. Nicely done fruit beer, although too heavy on the carbonation.
