Courtesy of pfoxyjohn. Pours a reddish orange with a medium head and lots of lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of piney, citrus hops with a slightly sweet malt. Taste is in-your-face with the hops but very nice - piney and lemon hops with a undertone of sweet slightly toasted malt. Nice.

Poured a orange color with good head and good lacing. The aroma was brown sugar oranges and some resinous to it. Flavor was much the same little floraly/earth/dirt to it. Good but not great.

Bottle from CaptainCougar, full orangey (w/ brown/red aspects) colored pour, nice off-white head, good retention. The aroma was orangey, caramel, brown sugar, resinous notes. The flavor followed suit, pulling up just short of tea-baggy, some floral-earthy-grassy aspects also appearing in there. The mouthfeel was fairly hearty and carbonated. A decent brew, but not nearly as interesting or high quality as some of the BGW concoctions, and a little light on the hop bitterness. Thank you, Tom, this rounded out a fun little round of tasting.

Dark orangeish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, a lot of orange and other fruity hops. Flavour is fruity hops, grass some toffee and hay. Very mouthdrying thing.

I'm impressed. Really impressed. This was one seriously kick-ass IPA. This had it all, from top to bottom an excellent IPA that I only wish I could get more of. A beautful beer pours a slightly hazy dark amber color, khaki like, one finger thick head which melted away after a few minutes. After bringing it to light for a bit some red hues come out with a nice mix of brown. Smelling the beer I could get some soft floral hops but after it warmed up the pine and grapefruit comes on really strong. Sweetness permeates the aroma as well, but nothing overpowering just a perfect haromic convergeance with the hops. Sipping the beer I could pick up the summit garlicky/onion character right away, but it had bonded nicely with the pine and juicy grapefruit from the Cascade and Simcoe. Caramel sweetness evenly balanced the powerful onslaught of bitterness very nicely and what you are left with is once kick-ass IPA. IMO, every sensory profile was done exceedingly well. Kudos to the guys at Tyranena. Looking forward to trying their other beers.

Bold; balanced; refined; delicious. Sharp hop flavor blends pine and citrus around solid caramel malt structure. Complex finish with the introductory malt tease eventually finding a rewarding dry bitterness. Robust floral hop and light toffee aromas. Gorgeous copper body and thick, foamy, lasting ecru head producing light lace. The smooth malt presence allowed unexpectedly savory pairings with assertive foods - which otherwise might have clashed with the huge hops - from spicy cajun crawfish to rosemary-grilled rack of lamb, to aged brick cheese with onion and mustard on rye. This is a sophisticated gem in a fine progression of 'legendary' IPAs cultivated by Rob Larson and crew at Tyranena.

Bottle courtesy of Monger: Poured a clean brown color ale with a medium foamy head with some good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of citrus hops is dominating with a subtle base of caramel malt. Taste is dominated by some nice citrus and bitter malt with a base of caramel malt that could be more important in order to provide a more balance beer. Body is about average with some adequate carbonation. Overall, I thought his was interesting but fell a bit short of the great staple of the style.

This is is a hop lovers delight. The aroma is just outstanding, like a field of clover among other familiar scents. The hops are so well balanced that it gives you a burst from start to finish without ever being overly bitter. A truly wonderful beer.

Deep copper hue and thick ivory head with curtains of lacing. Gigantic hop aroma, reminiscent of burying one's nose in a bag of sticky buds! Mouthfeel is sweet and full-bodied, and flavor is sufficiently malted to balance the enormity of the hop presence, with a sweet and bitter finish. The Simcoe hops burst through in the flavor of this awesome imperial IPA. I drank two pints in succession, and just wanted more! An amazing beer.... A limited release, so get ye to Tyranena in Lake Mills ASAP for a draught, and watch for it soon in bottles.
