Served only on the hand pump at the 11th St. brewery. This was pretty much an IPA with the excellent smooth and creamy characteristics that come with nitrogen, hand pump beer. Distinctive hop characteristic, but balanced with an equal amount of sweet malt. It's a sad tale with these folks. An SF landmark for years, they were directly across the street from Slim's and DNA Lounge, that are consistently great venues for independent music in San Francisco. Their large South Of Market location was also hot Real Estate during the dotcom silliness where industrial/office space down there was renting for $60/square foot. Anyway, there's no way a brewery/tap house could afford that so they were kicked out to make way for goatcondoms.com; run by a bunch of 20 year olds who just moved out here from the east coast and don't drink anything but green apple martini's so what's the use of a tap house anyway... Sorry, I'm about to start to cry...
