By far one of my favorite European Lagers. Could be b/c it brings back memories of sipping in a bar in Cinqua Terra, Monterossa looking out over the Mediterranian. More than that, it's simple and well make like a Euro Lager should be. Clear, dark golden color with a distinctive, silky mouthfeel that I appreciate. Citriusy Saaz hop bite balanced by the silky mouth make this a very enjoyable beer.

A decent and drinkable brown from our friends across the pond. Nice light brown color... Clear bottle which made me wary especially on an import, but OK. Pretty much flat with a strong nutty malt flavor. Drinkable brown, but not much else.

Oh man I love barley wine season. In exactly one week at this time I'll be warming a bar stool at Toronado's B-wine fest... Thought I'd get a head start and so I picked up a few bottles of the 2003 vintage this evening. Oh man, what a powerful brew. Incrediable sweet aroma of anise and alcohol, pours with a deep redish brown color. Very strong and complex malt flavor.. sweet with hints of anise and plum. Slight hop aftertaste, and obviously at 11.4% there's a strong taste of alcohol. Overall I feel it's an awesome brew from an awesome brewery. A little too unbalanced to be entirely drinkable (my opinion), but I'm going to take North Coast's advice and let it age to see how the flavors mello out.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy this latin Lager. Crisp, light, and enjoyed best when served w/ a lime. I really appreciate the malolactic taste that you get w/ a lot of other lagers of this style.

A brewer using traditional Sazs hops makes a good pilsener. Very light and sweet. A mild, lingering hop aftertaste. Awesome summer thirst quenser. Best drank while serving up the 360 view of the mountians surrounding Washoe Valley. It's a sight!
