The amber-coloured specialty beer Troubadour Magma has the aromatic and hoppy-bitter character of an American Indian Pale Ale, but is softened by the fruitiness of a Belgian Tripel. Enthusiasts appreciate the explosion of fruity scents from dry hopping. Perfect to enjoy on a night out during a sunny spring or autumn day.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 9%, 45 IBU. Cloudy orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus / orange marmalade and piney hops. Medium sweet flavour with notes of oranges, grapefruit and pine needles / resin. Medium bitter finish. Nice to drink.

Best before 2021/DEC/17. Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy, almost creamy warm light-beige coloured head, very long retention and good creamy-wavy lacing. Fruity malt nose with some grassy hop notes, blending sugars and hints of caramel-berries. The taste shows a bunch of the same with nice milder grassy hops, warming alcohol, caramel and light berry. Becomes hazy at last pour. Not your typical Imperial IPA, but a nice Belgian-style version.

The beer pours a very cloudy rust colour with a huge rocky off-white head which lasts. The aroma is very hoppy with notes of pine and citrus, followed by honey, yeast, and grains. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, notes of burnt sugar/caramel, grains, and hints of yeast and honey. An interesting beer. Not very tripel like and not very IIPA like. Yet still enjoyable. -

330 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Troubadour stemmed tulip glass an unfiltered and hazy pale amber-orange coloured DIPA with a two fingers dense, pillowy and beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is deep resinous and fruity hops, mango, pineapples, lemon, peach, spicy, orange peels, ginger. The flavour is a bench of fruits, pineapples, lemon, citrus, grapefruits, on a solid caramel malts backbone, dried fruits, nuts, herbal notes, spicy, ginger and piney hops. The mouthefeel is light creamy and intense hoppy bitter. The texture is a bit oily. This medium to full bodied DIPA has a dry hoppy bitter and fruity finish. A nice Belgian expresssion of what a DIPA is. Well done !

Aroma - an intense aroma of fresh citrus juice, honey..almost toffeeish. Rather complex for an IIPA.
Appearance - hazy orange body, 2-finger off-white head, medium retention.
Mouthfeel - medium-full bodied, medium carbonation, light stickiness
Flavor - light-medium sweetness, lemons, oranges, grass and candi sugar present. Definitely Belgian-ish with the fruity esters. Perhaps not big enough to be a IIPA, but quite tasty.
Overall - glad I had a chance to enjoy it and while it was different being a Belgian IIPA, it was still hoppy but with an almost having a lot in common with a BSA. I liked it quite a bit. -

Not that hoppy for an IPA, but definitely has that Belgian feel and flavor....cross of a triple and IPA. A cloudy medium orange appearance. Semi-creamy textured mouthfeel. Complex flavors of malts, fruits, light wheat balanced by a light variety of hops. Glad my neighbor works at Total Wine & More, otherwise I'd probably never get around to trying this.

I like the combo of Belgian spicy yeast, fruity sweetness, and citrus & pine hops. Big beer, slightly warming, well carbonated, not a great triple or iPa, but a nice complex combo of both styles.

Hazy golden yellow with decent huge foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is good hoppy Tripel, taste is nice bitter with longer bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201302)

Magma pours a nice cloudy orange hued body with plenty of yeast floaters, the head is thick and pillowy and it leaves some fairly decent lace. Aromas of pineapple, grapefruit, and caramel malts with a touch of yeast. Flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma with the sweet caramel malts being the dominant flavor, the finish is long, bitter and sticky. Overall a very nice beer thats worth a try.

Dark orange color with white head. Aroma is pine, oranges, some bread. Flavor is well balanced with citrus, orange and tangerine some caramel also. Aftertaste is smooth with a hint of biterness. Me likely this beer but oh look brunswick stew is here. Bye!
