On draft at the Philly location. The pour was hazy amber to brown, near to no head or lacing. The aroma was herbs and spices, ginger most noteable for the latter. The flavor was nasty, cough medicinal notes all over everywhere, combined with that ginger character that just turns me off on most anything, especially beer. Light wheat-like body under it all, but man, I couldn't get past all those disgusting spices and floral notes. Ick. Light body, watery in many ways. May I never find a time machine and accidentally end up back to the Goths of the United Kingdom, yikes! Thanks goodness for hops these days.

Sampled at Princeton brewpub. Not sure if this isn't my style or I got a bad glass. A dark burgoundy/copper with small white head. Aroma of spices I couldn't quite make out. Kind of a malty flavor, spiced, but felt thin overall. Decent, but I'm unsure about this one. I will have to give it another go.

07.21.04 Princeton, handpump. Smells almost exactly like the Heavyweight 2 Druids. Unctuous, coating palate - yet strangely thin as it finished. Rosemary really dominates, cinnamon is indeed present. The rosemary leaves a persistent piney aftertaste. Interesting and much more drinkable IMO than the HW2DG. Rootbeer colored with ample head and medium lace. I hope that more brewers catch the bug and experiment with this style. This beer, while delicious, is anything but quaffable.

Cask... Poured a clear copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of juniper, apple cinnamon, pine, and vanilla. Taste of nutmeg, citrus, spices and caramel.

On tap at brewpub. Clear orangish brown in color with a tan head. Spicey aroma with a malty flavor. I get cloves, and nutmeg. Decent.
