750ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a massive frothy beige head. Great retention. Has a deep dark amber appearance. Slightly excessive carbonation. Aromas of dark cherries, toasted malt, a bit smoky. Flavours of cherries, smoky, a bit dank and tarty, some light roasted malt, herbs and mild spice. Quite a lot of sourness on the palate, some bitterness as well.

Pours a clean deep amber colour with a big warm-beige frothy-creamy head, good retention and some spotted tiny lace. Cherry aromas reminding me of Twizzlers with some roasted malts in the background and hints of smokiness. The taste is Kriek red liquorice with some mild roasted malts and notes of maple syrup. The porter base mixes well with the cherries. So roasty, fruity and the smokiness is very mild. Kind of like a blend Twizzlers and burnt marshmallows. Very interesting Kriek blend.

The beer pours a slightly translucent coca-cola colour when held to a strong white light, with a huge frothy light tan coloured head which lasts a while. The aroma is quite complex as both the tart cherries, and burnt wood are prominent. There are hints of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee as well, but it is the tart cherries and wood that dominate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and with above average carbonation. The flavour is both chocolatey and tart at the same time. There are also notes of roast and coffee in the mix. Looks good, smells good, feels good, but does not taste good. Nor am I a fan of the dark frosted bottle as I can’t see how much yeast was left on the bottom. -

Pours barely translucent chocolate with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma presents sweet cherry, roast malt and chocolate notes. Flavor yields tart and sweet cherry, roast malt, chocolate and earthy tones plus a hint of quality coffee. Texture provides good, smooth body and peppy fizz. Fit for a queen - or a dragon.
