Purchased under JosephsBrau Vienna style lager at Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours a clean amber colour with a yellowish cap, decent retention and a little lace. Fruity malt aromas. The taste is fruity as well with some apple notes. This is an easy-drinking, mild cereal malty vienna lager.

Pours a clear dark amber, rather typical but still appealing, with a fairly thick and persistent off-white head. Aroma is malty but not strong, nothing special but not bad either. Flavor is malty and has just a hint of fruit and a touch of caramel. Texture is fizzy and tingly. Overall, not too shabby.

A refreshing, easy to enjoy, easy to forget Vienna Lager that stares at me every time I go into Trader Joe's. The aroma goes very easy on the sweetness, light caramel that can be easily passed of as plain sugar. The appearance is a dark amber color with basically no head. Flavors of mild caramel, soft herbs and just a bit of bitterness detected. Enjoyable, but forgettable. It's got great drinkability!

i could skip this one. it IS smooth, but that's because there's not a whole lot going on flavor-wise, which makes it an easy to drink beer, but nothing more.

This one pours a clear bright amber colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is very malty accented by strong hop aromas. Plenty of carbonation in this one, but taste is unfortnately dissapointing. Flavor is a little stale with hops initially, but finish is watery.

Pours a clear amber color with a thin and quickly disappearing head. A swet malty aroma. Tastes sweet like caramel or toffee. Malty. Just a hint of hops. Did I say sweet?

The second of my whirlwind tour of everything that the so-called Trader Joe's Brewing Company puts their name on -- these actually come from Gordon Biersch, BTW. And that fact is definately reinforced with this rather turgid offering, IMO.
In short, this looks decent (um, where did the head go?), with a very minimalistic approach to the aroma profile. Nothing recommendable -- but nothing that turns me off, per se.
That is, until you get around to taking a closer look at the flavor profile. Basically, this is really too sweet and cloying for my liking. Kinda "gluey/gummy" in the mouthfeel, that only emphasizes the cons rather the the pros of this beer. Yeah, it's malty, but so what. When a belch of this tastes better going out than the beer going in, there's something wrong, eh?
Reminded me of Gordon Biersch's Märzen -- with the very-same faults. That is to say, when it's fresh, it's a nice drop of beer. But put some age to it? Ugh....
I gave a semi-intrigued thumb's up to the TJ's Bohemian Lager. But the TJ's Vienna Style Lager? Pass....

This beer pours a clear amber color with a thin white head which dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is grains, slight malts and a hint of cherry with a subtle hint of bread. The flavor is light and fruit filled. Bready grainyness and ever so slight cherry/citrusy flavor, but overall weak palate. Even the carbonation was held in check. Smooth drinking beer, but nothing to really write home about. Pretty wet finish in most regards.. very standard!

Light amber color. Small to no head. Aroma is caramel and sweet. A medium bodied amber/Vienna. Malts are caramel and sweet. Slightly spicy hops. Smooth tasting. A little thin tasting and perhaps a touch too sweet. Drinkable, but there is not a lot of flavor going on here. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

clear amber with a small white head, this is a nice looking pour. slightly sweet flavor w/ a mildly tangy finish. good value for the money
