This is a clear rusty color, lots of bubbles, and capped with a snow white frothy head. Lacing is decent. Lots of toast and caramel in the aroma, along with old world hops and yeast. Mouthfeel is average, maybe even fuller than average. Flavor is sweet malt notes up front, and bitter hop notes in the finish. Very good, and very well balanced.

Bottle purchased from brewers shope. Clear amber, lacing off-white foam. Bit sweet aroma and taste. Crisp beer, nice but nothing outstanding to it. (Cleveland 201510)

good looking glass of beer-amber/ruby hue with a fine head that left rings as it went down and a malty floral aroma. Smooth and medium bodied with caramel and toffee flavors, a bready note to it like a honey bun and a subtle warmth. The finish was mild and bittersweet

Amber pour with a medium off white head. Minimal amount of lace. Roasted malts with subtle hop aftertaste. I think the only knock against this beer is the rather plain aroma.

Clear amber/copper color with an off white head that had average girth and retention, but left some patchy lacing. Some burnt orange and yellow highlights caress the sides and bottom of the glass. The head settled to a fine film. A sweet, rich smelling malt is the first fragrance I pick up on. Some fruity hops abound. Almost smells like a mild Oak barreled Kentucky Bourbon. The fruitiness seems to be a cross between grapes and peach. Not for sure. With the taste, I am again picking up the very sweet malt with some fruity, bitter tinges. Picked up the Oak flavoring of Bourbon again. It's mild, but in there. Medium mouthfeel. Nicely smooth and dry with a sophisticated alcohol warmth. The flavor is wrapped across the palate gently. The brew has an almost slick or oily feeling. This is a nice little beer. A complex beer in my opinion in both aroma and taste. It seems to be rather sweet, so that may get to me after a while, but I could set a few back with relative ease.

Not my favorite style but I was left pleasantly surprised here. Lightly sweet caramel and toffee aroma. Similar taste but with enough earthy bitterness to keep things level. An easy drinking beer.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. It was sampled on 6-4-09 and had a best before date of 6-19-09 on the label. Appearance: The body has an inviting deep reddish amber color with very good clarity. On top there is a modest sized, just off white colored head that hangs on well and makes some nice lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma has some sweet and toasted malty character with light mineral and leafy hop notes. Taste/Mouth: Its flavor has a sweet malty and toasted bread base with notes of brown sugar, caramel and toasted malt. Hop flavor is solid and matches the sweetness of the malt with earthy, leafy and mineral flavors and balanced bitterness. The finish has toasted grains and hops fading slowly off the tongue. Its texture is smooth and slick with soft carbonation. Notes: This is an outstanding Vienna Lager!!! The balance of sweet, toasty and hops is spot on. Well done Great Lakes!!!
