A pleasingly warming beer with it's amber hue showing off it's rich malt heritage. Mildly bittered with a smooth hop flavor complementing the malt. Winter Sk?makes a person welcome the onslaught of the cold. Available November through January.

Pours a slightly darker golden amber with a nice fluffy head that takes its time. Tons of carbonation. Has a straw aroma with a hint of spice and lemon. Taste is pretty much malt but you can detect a more grainy hint to it. Finishes off slightly dry. Overall a good full bodied beer.

Mmmmmmm.... beer, ambeer. Nice mix of vienna malts and a yeasty background with a stingy twist. like all good ambers this one changes as it gets warmer, giving it layers of interesting flavors.

Capital does seem to always try to please the masses rather than just make good beer. This one looks good, nice clear amber with good thick head. But as is usual with Capital, minimal aroma and minimal flavor. This is easy to drink and by far one of their better beers though.

Courtesy of BeerHunter and Phishpond. Another Wisconsin winner, this one pours a deep, clear amber with a nice head and good, tight lacing. Good carbonation. Aroma of sweet slightly toasted malts, caramel and very slight hops. Taste is rich with an edge to the malts and slight sweetness with some hops. Very, very good beer.

This one poured a ncie amber color with a firm frothy head. It had a nice sweet aroma with a faint hop presence. The flavor was strong in malt and resembled, in a way, bread. Went down smooth.

Poured a dark reddish brown colour, with a medium sized tan head. Aroma has something of vanilla, lightly toasted malts and a little caramel. Mouthfeel is light and creamy, taste is soft and mildly acidic. finishes long.

Beer poured a pale light brown color, with nice head and a little lacing. Aroma of stinky feet, nuts and bread. Flavor was sweet malts, nuts and burnt bread. A nice grassy type hoppiness balanced it out. Okay, but not terrific.

Poured a amber color just okay head and small lacing. Aroma was very doughy and sweet caramel. Flavor was much the same, but still a good balance to the sweetness. Thought it was going to be to sweet from the aroma.

Poured a fairly clear amber color, very slight chill haze, steady stream of mini carbonation bubbles continually rising to the surface. Aroma was toasted caramel and bread. The flavor was excellent, top notch within style, sweet caramel and light nuts finishing with a nice toasted bite (maybe some hops magnifying the bite?). Really quite drinkable at this level of sweetness. Mouthfeel was moderate to slightly sticky, ample carbonation tingling the tongue. These finer vienna lagers are perhaps some of the most under-rated beers out there.

This is kind of a two stage beer.. Dark Amber when it pours with off white head.. Looks very appealing.. the first drink makes you think otherwise.. but after that it grows on you real quick. I found the more sips the better it was. A great seasonal beer, for winter.
