Color and foam are average and middle of the road for style. I found the aroma and flavor to be rather poor: below average for what should be a safe style. The nose has some banana and clove that lets up in the flavor. The sweetness is almost up to the level of coconut. No balance from thew miniscule spicing. The mouthfeel is sturdy and pleasant, but I found this tough to finish.

An excellent German hefeweizen brewed in America. Supposedly brewed with a German yeast strain. The beer pours out a cloudy gold colour with a generous white head. Wheat malt, grass, banana, and spice make up the aroma with the fruity sweetness dominating the flavour. Refreshing and tastes good.

Purchased at Trader Joe's in Nashville. Second Weizen rating of two (both made for TJ). Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a slight off-white head that is creamy-foamy, with good retention and not much lace. Banana bread nose with notes of cloves. Mildly creamy mouthfeel with a little crisp to it. Same banana bread found in the taste. Unlike the JosephsBrau Weizen, this one does not have the dark fruits in it. It is a lighter version, that is easier to drink, but less complex. Still, really good... and superb for the price.

Nice aroma of cloves, banana, bubble-gum and wheat. Two-finger head with nice lacing, and a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Dark, wheat flavor with hints of banana and cloves.

Not a very refreshing wheat beer in any way and quite plain. The beer pours out a nice light amber body, hazy with a 1" creamy off-white head. The head dissipated in an instant and was very hard to get one on a few swirls. Bread, clove and light banana on the nose. Light banana and wheat on the palate. Extremely light carbonation, almost flat. I think the worst from the Trader Joe line of beers from Gordon Biersch.

all the flavors you'd expect from a bavarian hefe, but all subdued. overall, it's an ok beer, but there are better options out there, even for the price.

Pours a copper gold color. Filtered? Its cloudy, but there seems to be no yeast. Banana, clove, citrus aroma. Crisp medium mouthfeel. Tastes of cloves and citrus/lemon. I was drinking it without lemon wedge. A good beer for the money.

One thing I noticed about this beer was how tangy it was. It had lots of citrus fruit and plenty of lemon evident in the taste. typical cloudy golden colour of a hefe. It was still very pleasent and great for a hot day.

Hmmm an interesting brew. Since it is Gordon Biersch im not that greatly impressed. It has a very ncie pour with a thin lacey head. Mouthfeel is a little sour with a lingering malty harshness. Over the flavor is nice but its just mediocre.

My first Trader Joe's brand beer now that they sell it here in oregon.... A gold color, light head and moderate haze. Mouthfeel was crisp with a medium body. Malts are sweet (honey like). Citrus (orange) and bubblegum are evident, such is the authentic yeast strain. A slight clove/pepper spice. A crisp finish and balancing hops add some flavor too. In the same ballpark as Widmer, but maltier it seems
