Thanks for picking up our special 10th Anniversary beer. This delicious Rye Bock celebrates ten years of our brewing passion. It has a rich, tawny color, a wonderfully crisp maltiness accented with a generous dose of rye, and is fairly full-bodied. Available in cork-finished, bottle-conditioned 750ml bottles.

Poured a brownish color with full head, tons of carbonation. Aroma was chocolate and bread and was roastedness. Flavor was much the same rye didn't come out till the finish. Good.

Bottle from Topps in Tempe, 9/07. The pour was full brown color, full off-white head, very carbonated for the style, bottle opening required a quick pour. The aroma was chocolate, light roast, bread, grass. The flavor followed suit, some extra yeast detectable, dry finish, rye bite comes through in the finish. Overall a pretty nice brew, but it's still a bock when all is said and done (nice, not excellent).

750ml bottle, caged and corked. Pours a beautiful brownish ruby red with a creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass. There's lots of sediment in the last pour.
The aroma is metallic alcohol (rye trying to come through?) initially with some sweet nutty grains and tobacco and cinnamon and dark fruits.
The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malts with a dry, slightly bitter rye finish. The alcohol is tinny and medicinal and becomes a little overbearing as it warms. The mouthfeel is pretty fully and creamy.
Overall, a decent beer. The flavors just don't do it for me. I'd much rather have an FCB doppelbock. -

05.07.05 750ml bottle at Heavyweight open house...must have been thanks to hopdog? Thick bodied cloudy brown with thick tan head. Soft rye and sweet sugar on nose, then I lose the rye entirely. Brown sugar, pumpernickle (oops, the rye’s back). Really mellow brew, not too rye forward. Nice stuff.

The body is a dark brown with some definite purple notes. The Head is sizeable and a pale khaki. The aroma is mostly brown sugar, oak and a bit of wine. The flavor is sugary dark malts, a little cocoa and the slightest hint of wine. There’s a bit of past-their-prime banana and pear that complements the malt nicely. Still, the body is thin and flavor a bit weak.

Dark brown color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and fruity. A medium bodied bock. Malts are fruity and sweet. Nice rye spiciness. Hops are spicy and floral. There is a touch of sourness as well. Nicely balanced. Interesting beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

This beer pours cloudy brown with a large white head. Nice aroma of malts & rye. The taste is malty but the rye is definitely in there. It is Very smooth and well made. I shared this with some relatives I was staying with. They weren't beer geeks, but they appreciated the micros in their area (Colorado). This was the first either had ever had and they were very impressed with the complexity and flavors.

Poured a hazy brown color with a large, off white, head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, and a doughy, dry rye as well. Taste of nuts, caramel, and toasted dough.
