Bottle picked up at the local state store
Clear dark ruby/brown with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma is toasted malts and chocolate. Flavors of roasted malts, caramel and rich chocolate

Clear amber color with a thin off white head. Sweet malty aroma with some lighter roasted malt. Flavor is sweet malts mixed with other subtle malt varieties. The rich and sweet dark malt flavor is dominant here. Overall really nice flavor although a bit on the sweet side for my taste.

Poors nice and dark, but not opaque dark brown or black. I was hoping optimator would optimate my tasting session. What I mean by that is; no bitter finish. After tasting Salvator, Pious munk and Sweet wheat love, I was hoping for a smooth aftertaste that was not offensive. This has a bitter aftertaste typical of ruff dopplebocks, but not like a stout. Finish is OK but not optimizing.

Bottle: Poured a burgundy edged brown with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is rich with roasted malts, some stickiness in the nose as well. Taste is sweet caramel and roasted malt, not sugary, very smooth ans some fruit like character as well in the finish.

Very dark red-brown pour with a tan head that disasters quickly. Great rich malt aroma with a light hint of raisin. Taste is very smooth with zero bitterness with a hint of molasses. Good thick mouthfeel.

Thick mahogany pour with a frothy head. Smells of spice and grain. From the looks of it, this is a fantastic beer. Mouthfeel is velvety and taste is delicious. Malt, spice and grain. Fruitcake. Finish is a little slippery. Other than that. This is a fantasitc beer!

Pours a dark brown/red with some a small amount of bubble and tiny bit of off white head. The aroma is of malts and dark fruits like raisins, plums and figs. There's also a bit of alcohol. The taste is big on sweet malts, prunes, grapes a bit of alcohol and little bit of bitter grassy hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and slick with a medium body and very little carbonation.

Pours dark brown with good clarity and small head. Aroma balances sweet, grainy topnotes against a musky base. The flavor is boldly malty, equally sweet as dry. Medium bodied with gentle carbonation. Best at cellar temperature.

A great beer. A nice mahogany colour with a light tan head that lasts. The aroma is dark caramel malt, nuts, and spices. The flavour is sweet malt, grains, and a decent bitter finish that lingers. Simple, yet well done.
