Strong grassy nose with some bread and a bit of funk, spot on. Good fluffy white head with decent lace atop a clear golden body. Mouth is medium, carbonation well done. Darn good American-made Pils. Grassy sour notes, light malt body, crisp and dry, very very well done.

I quite enjoyed this.. Pours a light gold, medium foam .. . hot dogs are ready .. . light grain, light bitterness .. . a very simple beer but very good for an american pils .. . You can't just pick and choose which laws to follow. Sure I'd like to tape a baseball game without the express written consent of major league baseball, but that's just not the way it works.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color pils with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of grassy and dry hops with solid malt backbone. Taste is dryer then I had anticipated (not that this is a bad thing) with a solid malt backbone. Body is quite full with perfect carbonation for the style. Very well done and something I would wish would be available around here.

This is a very smooth crisp beer. One of the best pils that I've had, that wasn't an imperial pilsner. There are still many that I haven't tried, especially from Europe, but as far as American microbrews are concerned this is spot on. Has a pale yellow color, clear light texture. Tastes of wheat, barley,, very light hops. Highly recommended if looking for something on the lighter side.

Here’s a golden-straw colored beer. There’s plenty of bubbled carbonation in the body of the beer. A robust foamy white head sat on top with pour. A nice filmy lacing is what soon is left. The nose picks up a grassy-citrusy, slightly spiced aroma. The palate picks up biscuits with a nice balance of floral hops and the bittering of citrus. A clean, crisp drink that quenches a big thirst.

Pour was crystal clear yellow, nice fizzy head and decent lacing. Weak aroma of saaz hops. The flavor was sweet grainy malt with some grassy hop flavorings. Very mild hop profile. Good and clean beer. No complaints.

Pours a golden color topped with a moderate head. Aroma is slightly fruity, wheaty, and grassy. The taste is slightly sweet and malty with citrus notes and a crisp, clean, hoppy finish. While it's not going to blow you away there is quite a bit of flavor in there, especially for the style. Very well balanced. Easy drinking and refreshing.

Pours with a pale yellow body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter with a grassy hop note and a touch of skunk. Light bodied and smooth.

So far, Stoudt's has made some very good brews That I have sampled and reviewed; that being said, I was not too afraid of picking up a sixer of this pils style brew from these guys. The aroma is nice and first reminds me of a blonde style brew with some nice grassy overtones as well as some sweet malt and some fresh layers of hops and is very refreshingly aromatic and crisp. The appearance is a nice, golden pale yellow and straw-like with a nice and fluffy to creamy head on top and is very carbonated and bubbly and bleach white in color and remains on top throughout consumption. The mouthfeel is light and very crisp with some nice hay complexity as well as pleasant complexities of malts and hops with a palate that is almost creamy and very wet-like and desirable. The flavor is of nice malts and grain and is very crisp and clean with some nice malty sweetness that becomes evident in the aftertaste and is just so well-balanced and very good with a finish that is extremely clean and very crisp, as well as sharp and downright tasty. Overall, a very well-made pils here with wonderful balance that makes this one of the best pils I have had and would be a great session brew that could be an everyday brew. On a final note, I would put this pils in my top 5 for the style and this brew is on par with the likes of Scrimshaw pils from the great Northcoast Brewing Company...highly recommended brew here.
