While brewed by Christoffel, ABV was 6.0% Now brewed by De Proef, ABV is 5.4% Urtype 6% ABV and like all our beers, bottom fermented, non-pasturized, unfiltered and fermented in traditional open tubs. This golden-blond beer refreshes whilst maintaining its firm bitterness and a hoppy aftertaste thanks to secondary hopping with classic Saaz hops. Bier, as pilsner was once meant to be.

Slightly hazy golden yellow with lasting and lacing white foam head. Aroma is light hoppy, mostly barley. Taste is nice bitter, with slight floral notes. Nice aftertate, good beer. (Velp 201301)

darker than one is used to for the style, and fairly flavorful as well. better than average, but not wuite a standout, as it's #2 rank implies. good dose of hopping and crisp malt sweetness make this a nice summer quencher.

Bottle @ De Paas in The Hague. Enjoyed in the sun, outside on the water. Bottle has a draft cork, always nice. Aroma has resin and fresh herbs and spices. Flavour starts of really fresh and ends in a bitter taste, wich was quite pleasant.

An interersting beer that is not readily available. Not a bloinde in the American sense as there is more of an orange tone. The aroma is very grainy malt with a hoppy feel. The flavor is mild grainy malt, some lemon notes here and there, and hops.

I bought this beer thinking it was a Belgian, so needless to say the disappointment started early and never abated. It's a hazy orangy-gold. The aroma is sweet malt, with a small amount of hops. The flavour is a little hoppy, with a malt backbone.

I've had this before and remembering liking more...
Poured out a yellowish brew with light orange hues, very large light tan head with tons of lacing and a good amount of suspended sediment. The aroma was a bit skunky which I don't remember from before, orange, lemon, wheat. The taste was off with it being on the sour side, light yeast and came across mostly as a watery bitter mix. Mouth feel was smooth with ample carbonation, solid bitterness and a long, bitter finish. I've had better bottles of this so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and consider a re-review. The last note on my review says in large letters "THIS SUCKS"... -

Beer pours...um, like dark orange(?). The darkest pilsner I’ve ever had, for sure! The aroma is sweet malt and maybe even some fruitiness. The flavor is sweet floral notes and fruity malt that was really sweet with maybe even a touch of sour, caramel malt and a nice rounding out bitterness. This beer is very atypical for style. I enjoyed it...and would have given it hugely high ratings if it only had more funky grassy type hops in there so typical for the style.

A hazy golden colored ale that had a strong aroma of floral hops. A medium bodied ale with a white head that dissipated somewhat quickly but lots of hops on the palate. I would never had guessed that this was a pilsner because there was also a fair amount of bread like malt flavor on the palate.

Once again the only description of this beer can be Metamucil, I have so many beers that look like this, but this glass of Metamucil comes with a thick soft creamy cap with great retention and lots of micro floaters. Aroma is highly unappealing mild skunk, lemon but only at the start, some darker stinky malts, and a touch of urinal to finish it off. Taste is equally unappealing as the aroma, dark sour malts, a wet barn, and some out of place vanilla. Flavor is mild but unpleasant I’m highly disappointed in this beer I must of picked an old bottle that was stored in the sun on top of heater. And why is this located under the pilsner category it has nothing in common with any pilsner I’ve ever come across.

August 12, 2007
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
330ml bottle
6.00% ABV
Bottled On: Unknown
$2.70
I tried this beer on August 12, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. It poured a hazy gold colour with a small head into the glass. The bottle described the beer as 'double-hopped' but this was not detected in the aroma to any extent. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was slightly hoppy and mild.
Both the appearance and taste of this beer was more reminiscent of wheat beers than a Czech Style Pilsener.
