This Stoudts IPA is a great beer. I'm drinking a 2003 vintage. The pour is a very dark amber color--even when held up to the light. The smell is a very sweet malt, mixed with the hops of course. The sweetness of the aroma really stuck with me, a very caramel like smell. The taste follows, as you get a very nice mix of sweet malt, and bitter hops. This beer is smooth and incredibly easy to drink. It closely reminds me of Great Divide Hercules, except a little sweeter.

amber colour, big head, nice hop presence, artichoke nose, full-bodied, pleasant, complex with some sourness in the aftertaste - remembers me of the Christmas Ale from Shepeard Neame

Very solid brew. Not an ibu monster just well balanced. Probably one of the best in a while for me. Piney hop character that is not in your face. Biscuity/toast malt aspect lends to a creamy palate.

Orange gold color. Medium head. Aroma is citrus and grapefruit. Medium bodied IPA. Nicely balanced. Hoppy without being overly bitter. Grapefruit and citrus hops. A nice IPA. Hops well balanced by the malts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

750 bottle, vinetage 11/21/01. Clear amber color with a large bubbled tan head. Aroma is lightly carameled, tinny and malt. Taste is dry with a bitter hoppiness and a sour pine taste. I’m also getting some brown sugar and molasses. Nice lacing, but the aroma turns me off right before I drink.

This beer has a nice amber color. There is a fair amount of maltiness to the beer, but the flavor of the hops is definitely the predominant flavor. It is a very good beer, worth trying.
