500 ml can, as Vieux Bruxelles Kriek, 4.0% ABV. Bought at Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. "Lambic" is not part of the name, actually lambic is not mentioned on the can at all. On the contrary, the can states that this is a top fermented beer, not a spontaneously fermented beer. Beautiful clear deep red colour, moderate off-white head. Distinct aroma of cherries, cherry kernels and almonds. The flavour is sweet and not sour, notes of cherries and almonds again, the mouthfeel is a bit thin.

I always like to end a beer drinking evening with a sweetener. Not sure if this is beer, official it is. Sweet aroma and even sweeter taste, lemonade after all the heavy beers we had.

Clear pinkish red pour, tall big bubbled head which reduces to a constant cap leaving nice delicate lacing. Very carbonated. Sour, tart then sweet cherry aroma, a bit light (but I'm used to New Glarus Belgian Red), then some slight funk and Belgian yeasts, and very slight floral hops presence. Tart then sweet cherry and berry flavor, very slight honeysuckle and floral, funky yeasts. Zingy and sweet in the end. Nice and cherry which is fine by me.

A decent but unremarkable lambic. It pours a decent clear red colour with a very thin pinkish head. Aromas and flavours of tart cherries are balanced out by vinegarish tones. The sweet balancers are weak but there.

25cl can: Poured a brilliant ruby red with a small rocky pink cap....soft small bubbled carbonation clings to the glass. Aromas: who ever said cherry lifesavers nailed it...that overpowering cherry smell with synthetic swetness over some light funky wet burlap tones from the lambic. Light body, undetectable malt, tart prickley mouth feel Flavor is an overpowering Cherry fruitiness with synthetic sweetness balanced against a tart/sour lambic taste...finish is fast sweet and sour with a strange hint of almond. Like Greg said: tastes like a liquid "cherry life saver"....Very flavorful but so hard to belive the cherry infusion is all natural fruit because of the near cloying sweetness from added confectioner's sugar. A decent Kriek but too sweet for my tastes.

As with the last St. Louis I had, I'm going to rate this as a fruit beer, rather than a lambic (like a New Glarus Fruit). Pours a ruby red color with a very thin head that gives a little lacing. The aroma is all cherries, very light funk. The flavor is cherry syrup stronger than ever, a little background funk and nothing tart at all. The flavor is unfortunately too thick and sweet to be refreshing, which is the main downfall. Not worth the dollars and way too sweet. If it had more complexity, I'd give it more props, but this thing is all cherries.

Bottled. Red colour, reddish small head. Nice cherry and cookies mix in aroma. A bit bitter cherry flavour at first, but the more you drink the more pleasant the flavour is. Easy to drink.

Bottle. Dark red colour with a medium pink head. Sort of an artificial cherry aroma. Very sweet taste of cherries with some cough syrup in there. Not particularly offensive, but I wont bother again.
