Avalanche Winter Ale is a heavy hitter designed to take the chill off the stormy Northwest winter weather. We start with Two-row Pale, Munich and Aromatic malts, plus Special B for its unique color and flavor, then add distinctive Northwest hops. The result is a deep red, complex and hoppy ale. Original Gravity - 1.068 ¤ International Bitter Units - 48 ¤ Alcohol by volume - 6.8%

From Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace. Poured a two-fingered creamy, tan head over a body of clear and dark copper. Said head had rather good endurance, giving rise to some nice lacing. Aroma was pleasing with malt and some floral/spiced undertones. Flavour was quite malty, too much so, with a slight bitterness to the finish. Towards the bottom of the glass, flavour and finish evened out, making this more enjoyable to drink. Should've stirred at the beginning, maybe.
