This limited release, short batch beer is a Black IPA brewed in memory of Greg Noonan, founder of the Vermont Pub and Brewery and Russell Scherer Award winner. The VPB created the first documented black IPA in the mid 90’s, so we’ve brewed this beer as a tribute to a true craft brewing pioneer. This firkin was dry-hopped with a blend of hops called Falconer’s flight. I like this style of beer and this one. Head sticks around on a very dark beer. Burnt roasted malt and earthy aroma. Flavour of roasted malt dark bitter chocolate and coffee. Not much in the hop department. Just a pine bitter aftertaste.

A dark brown colored beer with a big bilious fluffy light tan head rising robustly above. Great hang time on that head. A thick fluff stays along side the glass and thick ringlet atop the body. The nose is light and the only negative on this ale. The tasting is dominated by roasted burnt malt and brown sugar. A gentle floral and lighter citric hop presence make their notation known in the nose and tasting. Medium, slicked body.
