Continental style lager enjoyed throughout Europe. Visions of the Liter Stein-laden "Bier Fraus" bespeak the drinkability of this smoothest and most quaffable of lager beers. Less hoppy than Pilsner and very drinkable. Deep straw color. Balanced with Bavarian hops. Aged a full 6 weeks at 32°F.

Tap at Calhoun’s - This poured a golden color with a faint lemon and grassy aroma. The flavor is rather malty with a lemony flavor. Overall a very simply refereshing beer. Nothing else to see here.

Sampled while on a trip to Nashville to see the Predators, but nothing to write home about. Clear gold colour with a thin white head, slightly bubbly and high efferevscence. The aroma is acidic, malty, and grainy with a hint of hops. The flavour is decently balanced between the malt and hops, mbut nothing outstanding.

Great beer courtesy of Louis. As a general rule, I normally stray away from dorts or other golden lagers just because my taste leans toward the american, wicked hopped style of beer. SO when I do have a crisp clean awesome tasting beer like this one, I then remember where my passion of beer lies: In being universal. Widely accepting all styles for what they are and loving them all the same. Clear golden, vibrant. Lots of fizz, soft grass and herbal notes the same. Pura vida! NIce beer! Thanks Lou :)

Sampled from bottle thanks to Louis! Pours clear dark gold with a thin creamy head and remarkable lacing. Grassy, sweet malt aroma. Barely sweet. Slight herbal flavor with a slightly toasted malt base. Medium light body with mild carbonation. No off flavors - excellent for what it is.

Faint grassy malt nose with a hint of fresh lemon, smells nice but could be more pronounced. Low carbonation and a slightly hazy golden yellow body. Minimally soapy head with a few spots of lacing. Light and refreshing, easy like Sunday morning. Mild hop presence presents a well balanced lager. Pale malt and biscuit flavor with grass, lemon zest and mild peppery spice. I had to write down my notes fast because this beer was gone in no time.

A solid pour into my 25cl glass yields a billowing, initially four-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a clear, gold copper color that shows an almost brilliantly clear, lighter version of the same color when held up to the light. The aroma is a mix of herbal honey malt notes, a touch of grassiness and a lemon herb hop character. There is a touch of grassy grain in the finish as well. This has a fairly nice aroma for a Helles that is pretty spot on for the style (except for that herbal honey note perhaps).
This beer is dry tasting up front, with an almost tart note that lingers into the finish. There is a light bitterness that mingles with the tartness in the finish; the tartness seems to be just a bit more noticeable than the hop bitterness though. The beer is also a bit over-carbonated, which is why it started to foam up as soon as I popped the cap, the effervescence is a bit too much for this beer to stand up to, but luckily this is easily remedied. A touch of tart green apple flavors up front seem to be what the herbal honey notes in the nose have turned into. This is quite light bodied, though not out of style.
The tartness in this beer is quite light, but it is distinct, this would certainly point to an infection of some sort (the over-carbonation could be a sign of this as well), and it certainly does take this beer out of style. As the beer warms up the honey notes in the nose start to take on a bit more fruitiness. Not bad, but certainly not what I was expecting or hoping for; in many ways it reminds me of a Berliner Weiss, it is not quite there though as the sourness would need to be a bit more gripping. Actually if this was labled as a Berliner Weiss I would have enjoyed it quite a bit more as it does have a nice, clean tartness to it.

Bottle courtesy of bluesandbarbq. Poured a hazy deep gold with a thin, white bubbly head that disappeared rapidly. A slightly sour veggie aroma. Medium-bodied; smooth, soft, simple and clean palate. Mild and somewhat unusual, intriguing flavors; hay, earth, nuts, sweet malt, and a sour edge in the finish. MUSIC: 'Bad Liver and a Broken Heart' by Hayes Carll

A hardy lager with a rich color. Rich taste and good head on draft made this very enjoyable with our meal. A good lager that I order when visiting the Smokey Mountain Brewery family of restaurants.

Looks like any big Macro, except for the creamy looking head. Aroma is like a can of macro with tin included. No real aroma. Taste is a bit of light dough with a bit of a sourness to it. Are all of their beers sour? Quickly, the head thins out to almost nothing. This may be my last attempt at a TN beer. Very light.

Hazy gold color with a small white head and light lacing. Aroma was that of vegetables, most notably creamed corn. EDA also mentions dough, which is somewhat there, though over powered by the corn. This tasted better when I sipped the beer, and didn’t breathe through my nose. The taste was sweet malts, lightly sour. Not one I would choose again.
