A smooth lager that strikes a delicate balance between sweet malt and dry hop flavors. 12oz bottle thanks to Secret Santa 2011
Appearance: Pour crystal clear golden with a medium sized white head and spotty lacing
Aroma: Bready malts, toffee and honey
Taste: Malts, toffee, honey with a mild bitterness in the finish
OK, easy drinking and smoothAroma: 1 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 3
Better than GL burning river. However, not as smooth as I think a genuine lager should be. Not too much carbonation. Has a lingering slightly bitter aftertaste and finish. I still am not sure why great lakes beers rate so high. Will not buy again.

Rated Dec. 2006. 12 oz bottle pours with a gold to orange-ish color with thin white head. The aroma is sweet citrus and a hint of pale Munich type malts. Flavor is sweet caramel mixed with citrus hops to create a candy orange-malty flavor. Leaves a pleasing taste behind that is slightly sweet citrus but not too sweet.

Aroma is strong and crisp, malty and yeasty with a hint of honey sweetness. It pours a nice clear yellowish amber with a thick, if not persistent, white head. Flavor is richer than most golden lagers I have tried, malty and crisp with an interesting fruity undertone, the sort that I find mainly in ales. Texture is crisp and fizzy, leaving behind a nice tingle.

Pours a dark golden color. Smell is sweet, grains. Taste is crisp, mild, some grains and malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Pours a nice clear gold colour with a thin bubbly head. Not much retention, leaves a little lacing. More flavour than most lagers. Lots of carbonation Not bad.Could be a good beer to introduce swill drinkers to craft beer.

pours a great golden color with excellent clarity. nice fruity aroma, with excellent carbonation. This beer looks as good as it tastes. Like other beers from this brewery a real winner.

This is a very solid beer. Somewhere between a rich Vienna and a crisp pils and exactly the flavor I think of when someone says "beer". A burnt gold color with a thin soapy head. Mild on aroma, malt and grass with touches of cereal/corn. Flavor is the maltyness of a Munich/Vienna style with the refreshing snap of a good pils. I could have a couple of these.

I've been told that this is the best tasting lager in North america, and while it's up there, I'm not quite convinced this is the 'ONE'. A nice clear medium golden red colour with a rocky long lasting white head. Aroma is bread, grass, and floral hops. Flavour is a nice amalgamation of hops and malt that is crisp, clean, and refreshing as all get out.

An orangish/amber color. Clear. Off white colored head that was small and didn't have much retention. Did have some nice lacing and several bubbles rising from the bottom. The smell had a nice bit of malt. Caramel, bread and a toasty biscuit. It smells clean and well balanced. The taste matched the aroma perfectly. Caramel, bread and biscuit. It did add an additional flavor of a light grain. Only a minor touch of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Dry and crisp. Left plenty on the palate. This is really a pretty nice little beer. Solid all around. Easy drinking an balanced well. Worth a try. Could be enjoyed year round. I don't think I would turn this down.
