50% off on clearance...otherwise would have probably not have ever tried this for $15. I am thinking that this maybe sat too long, as seemed on the flatter side....maybe balance off a little leaning towards the sweet side. I can tell that the flavor is there....fruit/tart, earthy, some hop...typical Belgian flavors. Once past the mouthfeel, it is a decent beer. Appearance is murky medium brown, kinda like swamp water or a dark apple cider with zero head. After reading these reviews I really do think the bottle was bad, as I figured aging a bit wouldn't matter with this one.

Sampled from bottle. This is my second attempt to try this beer - my first bottle having blown up in my beer fridge after the probe thermometer fell out causing sub-zero temps in the fridge. This ale pours cloudy, dark copper with a creamy light tan head and remarkable lacing. Mild floral, bubblegum and herbal notes in the aroma. Balanced leans towards the sweet side. Lots of layering in the malt profile - all lower lovibond malts lending to its bready, toasty, light caramel flavors. The yeast is tame with just a hint of black pepper and dark fruits. Full-bodied and smooth. Worth trying. It's also interesting and promising to see some of America's great young brewers collaborating with established European brewers. Things are obviously going right on this side of the pond.

This is a hybrid brew of American and Belgian brewmasters. It pours a clear golden brown colour with a nice white head. Yeasty notes open the aroma before bgiving way to floral hoppy hints. The flavour was smooth and had some hints of sweet malt, some spices, and citrsuy finish.

More Vegas - out of the corner of my eye I see this little circle with Port Brewing in it on the bottle made me get quite excited.
Dumped out into my glass and ended up with a nice initial off white clumpy cap that didn't last overly long, decent amount of slippery lacing and a nice clear amber brew (not clear after I shook out the sludge from the bottle!). Immediate aromas of musty yeast, pineapple, lychee, fresh and airy. On the second attempt I get freshly cut grass that was just shook out of the mower bag, mint? Lots here but I'm getting adequately buzzed and don't care as much right now. The taste is very good and highly drinkable. Early fruit and more than usual sweetness that brings almost an orange quality to it (probably closer to apricot and melon?) Lots more funk as I go. jesus, the alc is going straight into my dome.. I taste an interesting spice that reminds me of a mild yet pungent pepper, in fact, that taste mixed in with the fruit is pretty big right now. Funk (which I keep misspelling f**k) is gaining ground. Mild floral flavours, great mix of powerful hops tossed into this brew, leather. Apricots. Strangely dry somehow, a bit of leaf I think. Now its just bluntly dull. Man, this thing is all over the place which is cool. Seems fairly thick overall, good mouth coating, an out of place bitterness that really works well, dryness and .... crap! I cannot figure out what flavour is directly tied into the dryness - I keep hitting on it over an dover again and thought I would have it figured out by now. Nice carbonation. Finishes soft, dry and with mild hops that sure leave a lasting impression on this version of a Belgian Strong. Fish? aaag. drunk. Review ends with "From Skin to Liquid" by Cannibal Corpse. Excessive scotch has weakend by alcohol tolerance. Signature Ale is well worth the money. Drink the sludge! -

Bottle from SL. Poured a golden to amber color, decent typical BSA head and lacing. The aroma was fruity, yeasty, some notes of alcohol. The flavor too was a little hot, but a nice fruity, yeasty BSA with a touch of hops in the finish. Light wheaty, even bretty sour and bitterness also present. A nice brew.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy murky golden orange with a huge frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued, but nice - yeast, sugary malts, some fruits and some hops.
The flavor is sweet malts and fruits with a crisp hop finish with a good amount of bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a pretty different but nice Belgian. It's a little too sweet for me. -

This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium amber color from a corked 750ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is yeasty, a touch musty and fruity. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of orange and peach flavors. The hops are fairly floral. Touch of must and leather. Lively carbonation. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle courtesy of Kryptic: Poured a deep hazy golden color ale with a huge bubbly foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of funky notes with some barnyard-like notes as well. Taste is also a nice mix between some barnyard-like notes and some funky yeast with a dry European hops finish. Full body with limited filtration and great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. It kind of reminded me of Orval but I would still prefer to drink Orval over this even thought it is an interesting experiment.

750 ml Bottle at Hamilton’s. Pours with an orange/gold body topped by a thick, white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s bitter, grassy and hoppy with a note of spice and a touch of malty sweetness. tingly on the tongue and warming with a touch of dryness.
