Our most popular beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, is a delightful interpretation of a classic style. It has a deep amber color and an exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. Generous quantities of premium Cascade hops give the Pale Ale its fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor. Among my favorite session brews. This is the beer that sets the standard for the style. Hoppy without being over the top. Nice lacing and a wonderful aroma. The bottles and draft are different, but I love them both.

I'm told this is the quintessential craft beer and it is now available in Ontario in cans. Can. Colour - a golden amber, good effervescence, this off-white head. Aroma - grapefruit, cereals, yeast, and spices. Mouthfeel - almost full bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - it starts off a little malty, but after that, it's all about the hops. And that is a good thing.

A medium gold colored beer with good aroma and good flavor. Lots of hops without overpowering the rest of the palate. I've heard lots about it and glad I finally tried it.

On tap at Bier Markt, Ottawa. Pours an average size frothy off white head and has a pale golden appearance. Sticky dirty lacing. Aromas are mainly grassy hops and a bit malty notes. Flavours are piney and grassy hops, quite fruity and citrusy. A little bit of bitterness and good balance with sweetness. Lively carbonation. Pretty good retention. Has a fairly smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.

One of my go-to pale ales - crisp, refreshing and well-balanced in all respects. Nothing unusual here, just an honest plae ale with all requisite qualities. Sometimes simplicity is nice.

Somewhat hazy darker yellow with white foam head. Lacing to glass and staying all the way. like this. Aroma is hoppy with some citrus. Taste is surprisingly bitter with long lasting aftertaste. Tasted prfct withthe blackened tuna I ordered. (Salt Lake City 201208)

Pours a dark golden color. Smell is on the hoppy side. Taste is hops up front, some bitterness, malts kicking in at the finish. Overall an easy drinking beer.

Pours a golden amber with a decent size head. Aroma is hoppy but a tad bland. Taste is hoppy with metalic hints and finishes off a tad dry. Overall a nice beer. Will have again and again.

pours a nice orangish amber color, with a nice spiced aroma. nice fruity taste with a very clean refreshing finish. This is what a real micro brew pale ale is supposed to taste like.

I've had this beer SO MANY TIMES that I was shocked to see that I never reviewed it. This beer was my pale ale/IPA gateway. This beer is legendary and always satisfies. The beer is hoppy and resiny. It smells of grapefruit and pine - the flavor tracks the aroma. One if the reasons this beer is so satisfying is because it is remarkably consistent. You can NEVER go wrong with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Pretty big and hoppy for a pale ale, but its the one that started the whole US microbrew revolution really, and I can see why. At the time this brew would have been unlike anything else on the market. Now, the beer is high grapefuit, bit bigger and rounded out malts than many US pale ales now exhibit, great dry hopped aromas, lots and lots of grapefruit, but a bit of apple and a touch of forest show up too. Lemon oils a little bit. Quite nice.
