Yes! Rocking the Shipyard, chic’s totally dig it. It must be that ringworm yeast. 12oz bottle pours with a deep dark brown colored body that supports a tall tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dusty dark roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, a bit of earthy chocolate malts and only a faint vague sense of hops. The taste is similar as I get a good load of dark roasted coffee and dark roasted malts blending into chocolate and short lived sweet malts. To midway the dark roasted malts take on more of a burnt to almost ashy sensation just has the timid hops manage to come forward. This seems like a roasted malt forward beer as I struggle to find much in the way of distinct hop notes. Still there’s isn’t anything wrong here either. Pretty nice until it warmed and the ringworm yeast kicked in with its odd butterscotch flavor. Hmmm.

First sampled this at a beer festival a few weeks ago. Was surprisingly good, so wanted to be sure and bought a single before going further. I would say that this is one of the better Black IPAs I had. Usually hit or miss for my in this style. I think I like the black IPAs a little less hoppy so that you can taste the malt. Almost the perfect amount here, as it is semi-aggressive on the hops.... yet good chocolate malt flavors too. Seems to be on of the new trends this year, so as the price is right, I'll probably get a full 6 to enjoy.

A dark brown-black colored beer with a big sudsy textured, light tan head rising above. There's some hang time on that head. Light roasted nose. Same bitter, roastiness in tasting. Citric hops kick in as it warms. Pretty simple, simply good. Medium bodied and effervescent.
