Aggressively bold, earthy, and intense, Bitter Waitress Black IPA has every right to be as bitter and dark as it wants to be. A medium-full bodied ale loaded with hops and balanced with roasted malts and hints of black licorice.

The beer poured a solid black colour with a thin creamy tan coloured head that lasted throughout. The aroma was citrus hops, some roasted malt, and dark chocolate notes. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was a tad on the sweet side with dark fruit and chocolate flavours rounded out by weak citrus and coffee notes. It was quite enjoyable with no jolting aromas or flavours found in other ABAs -

Pours a real dark brown colour with a frothy-creamy beige head, good retention and thick creamy lacing. Mild hoppy aromas at first, but the dark malts take over quickly with chocolate, roasted and coffee notes. The taste is where the hops are stronger with some grassy and slight metallic characters. Oily start to the mouthfeel with a dryer finish. Nice citrus zest and roasted malts linger. A pretty good Black IPA and a nice first experience from this brewery.

Very dark brown pour, lasting beige head clings to the glass. Good roasted malt background, dark chocolate and licorice balanced with pine and fruity hops. Smooth medium mouthfeel. Not too much wrong with this beer. Definitely worth buying more.
