Pours with a light head that disapates into a faint ridge. This is a very modest, almost bashful beer, with almost no aroma. There is no hop bitterness at all; the flavor is mild and benefits from a slight carbonation tingle, though there are no bubble fountains rising from the bottom. A perfect beer for letting the young ones taste. Shouldn't offend even sensitive, non-beer loving palates. So much nicer and more refined than a big brewery American pilsner.

Poured an amber color with a small, off-white head, that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, light peat, and nuts. Taste of sickly sweet caramel malts, rather grainy, with some faint citrus fruits, and a weak mouthfeel.

Small, quickly dissapating light colored head. Light red color. Aroma has a sweet, candy-like scent with a little pine. Relatively full body with a hint of sweetness. A nice change from typical bocks.

This is an above average beer. Caramel, bock, thats about it. Good to try, not a regular, still worth buying at least once.

"The beer I tried was a carmel roast bock by schell. The smell was great and the taste was smooth with no bite in the back of my throat upon swallowing. Like I said it had a faint hint of carmel taste, a smooth dark feel and was so enjoyable drinking this beer. I think I have found an excellent beer for myself. Schell has been good, but this is the best I have had from them."
