A wholesome combonation of unfiltered wheat beer and real pomegranate juice makes a smooth refreshing beer with all the goodness of pomegranate. Look for a light body and a slightly tart finish with a straw color. Source: Saranac.com

It pours a hazy and slightly muddled dark golden with a 1/4-inch thick white head and some surrrounding lacing. An aroma of wheat malts, light pomegranite, some raspberry, orange and citrus, breads and yeast, and some spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and rich. Flavors of wheat malts, light hops, orange and citrus blends, pomegranite, bread and yeast, and light spiciness. Very good .. a comfortable to palate beer.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy orangeish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, mildwheat, some bananas as well as mild spicyness. Flavour is a lot of fruits, some wheat, mild bananas as well as some slight spicy and herbal notes. Refreshing.

12 Beers of Summer Saranac 12-pack
Aroma - mostly white grape juice/apple juice...reminded me of when opening a can of concentrated fruit juice
Appearance - clear golden body (sediment had settled), flully 1" white head
Taste - if I had this blind I would have assumed it apples or some other light fleshy fruit. Pomegranate’s would not have been on my mind. Light crackery taste, light tartness, sweetness is in full-effect.
Palate - light bodied, clean, quick crisp finish
Overall - my least favorite beer, but I did enjoy what this inexpensive 12-pack had to offer for the most part. -

not pink, so that's a plus. refreshing is the word here. i liked the use of p. juice. not overdone, but also not a miracle worker. a decent beer with a fruity semi-sweet juice-like finish.

An murky brownish tinged yellow colored beer. A small, thick foamy textured, white head rises above. It doesn’t stick around very long settling into an impressive lacing cap. The aroma is a weak sensation of pompegranate and even weaker malt. The body is medium and creamy. Pomegranate and sweet malt as in the nose come forward in the tasting. Not bad. Just not a WOW neer.

Presentation: poured from a 12oz bottle into a weizen glass. Appearance: It has a hazy body and a golden color with a big white head that makes nice lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a light fruity nose with hints of wheat and barley malts. Taste/Mouth feel: There is a sweet honey and light pomegranate character that blends well with the smooth wheat flavored malts. Its flavor is nicely sweet and well balanced to the wheat within the medium body. The carbonation is about average and it has a smooth and refreshing texture and great drinkablility. Notes: This may be my new favorite summertime outdoor party drink.

This fruit beer pours a medium purpe pinkish color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and wheat, with a touch of pomegranate. A light bodied fruit wheat beer. The malts are cereal and grain. The hops are slightly spicy. The pomegranate flavors add a nice tartness to this beer. It need a little more fruit though. Still the pomegranate works well with the wheat. A nice refreshing tasting summer beer. I would drink this one a lot if it were available in California. Nice lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is a full. The finish is clean and crisp. The aftertaste is slightly tart.

On my monthly shopping trip to Wine Corridor in Laurel, Maryland, a six-pack with a sunglasses wearing bear on the side caught my eye. Upon further review I saw that it was a Pomegranate Wheat from Saranac Brewing. Since I've recently found myself enjoying pomegranate green tea and the price was right, I decided to pick some up. I still wasn't sure how I felt about pomegranate being in my beer though. Bottom line, I'm pleasantly surprised with this brew. Upon pouring it in a pint glass, I'm greeted by a moderately golden, cloudy looking brew. Immediately I'm drawn to the aroma. Without even trying, your nostrils are filled with a light, fruity pomegranate smell. The taste is equally as pleasing as you are not overwhelmed by a strong fruity taste. Saranac has done it right with a lightly fruity, smooth summer brew. I recommend anyone into wheat beers with a hint of fruit, try this beer.

From the Beer Store in Moon, 12 oz brown bottle, not a twist off. Aroma is rather clean and honey sweetish. Hey, this label is pretty cool. Swirling wheat beer appearance, has gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Love those wheat beer hypnotizing pours. Color is cloudy brownish yellow. Initial flavor reminds a of some other Saranac brews but this one tends to clear to a more fruity taste. Good creamy carbonation. Each sip ends with a tart fruit hit on the palate. Each swig begins with some well controlled offensiveness then ends with that evolving finish. Very mild and well mannered. Better than most fruit brews. Cannot stand up against Orange Blossom, Rivertown or Northern Country fruit beers.

I was excited about this beer, and it was the deciding factor in grabbing the Summer Sampler. While it's not terrible, it is rather plain and uneventful. I detect a faint wheaty aroma, really faint hard to smell much at all. Good golden orange pour with a subtle red tint. Medium sized head with some patchy lacing. Creamy and filling as are most of Saranac's brews, soft finish the mouth feel is probably this beer's best aspect. Decent flavor, real tame but I can point out the dry wheat malt. There is a tiny fruity tartness with a vinous flavor of mellow table wine that works well. I'd like to see the pomegranate more pronounced. It's a decent one.
