This American version of a traditional Bavarian wheat beer is pale gold in color, flavorful and very enjoyable. Two row malted barley and malted wheat give it a crisp but layered maltiness with a light sweetness. Hand selected Spalt Spalter hops impart a bright finish and Bavarian yeast adds a special spiciness. Cheers! Jim Koch

Cloudy gold color with a dissapointing lack of head. Big soda bubbles rise sporadically from the side of the glass. Aroma is dominated by spicy yeast under which the malt/wheat cower. The flavor hits you with the spicy yeast and finishes with a mild esteriness that seems a little odd with the mild spiciness of the yeast. It is very crisp, but unlike most beers that invoke the crisp clause, it isn't overly watery. I'd take some of the real German hefes or an Oberon over this anyday, but this is a surprisingly bold attempt at the style from a brewer that seems to me to produce mostly tame beers.

I really enjoyed this beer. It's a very crisp & tangy wheat beer. It's much better than I would have expected fm SA.

I don't really care for the aroma of this beer. VERY cloudy appearance, gold in color. I can't see through the glass. This is my first experience with wheat beer, so bear with me. Taste is heavy and thick. Mildly smooth, but bubbly. Not at all bitter, but leaves a dry powdery feeling in your mouth, which holds the aftertaste. Not an unpleasant aftertaste mind you, but very pronounced. This is not a beer that I will rush out and buy. Maybe after a little more experience with wheat beers, I will form a liking to this.

Sampled from bottle. Cloudy yellow-gold with a minimal white head and intermittent lacing. Aroma is spice and sweet wheat malt. Flavor is dominated by banana. Light hop addition in the flavor. Too sweet of a finish. Moderate to heavy carbonation and light bodied. One of the few American wheats labeled weiss that actually conforms to the style.

Pours a cloudy golden color, with 2 fingers of head. Aroma is very wheaty, with a mild yeast aroma as well. Mouthfeel is drier than it should be, and kind of prickly on the tongue. Flavor is mostly wheat, with a very slight clove taste from the yeast. Ironic that this is more of a hefeweizen than Samuel Adam's Hefeweizen. Oh well.

Cloudy amber gold color with little head or lace. Yeasty, slightly sweet malt aroma. Slightly sweet and lemony flavor with yeasty undertones. Soda like on the tongue yet smooth and light.

A touch fruity, nothing spectacular. Medium bodied. Sweet due to the wheat. Not as complex with the fruit flavors as I wanted. Just alot of citrus in the afternotes. Would drink again but I would rather a Widmar .

Banana aroma. Cloudy yellow appearance. A wheat flavor with a huge dose of more damn bananas. Please tell me why this is a Winter Seasonal? Its ok but the worst beer I've had from these guys outside of Sam Adams Light. I dont like bananas and I dont care for these generic wheat beers that display nothing but that in the flavor. Sorry Im ranting but I wont be going here again.

I knew Samuel Adam's wouldn't put out a bad beer, so I had to try this. I wasn't overly impressed with the head, small and quick to disappear, even though there was quite a bit of carbonation. Smell is very subtle of yeast and citrus but not overwhelming. Nice overall mouthfeel and flavor. Very good summer brew to drink very cold and quench a thirst. I will be having this beer again.

While it is not as terrible as Shane says it did not blow me away. I thought it was just a typical wheat.
