A full-flavored porter inspired by the famous drink of London's Victorian era luggage porters. Brewed with generous portions of Caramel, Munich and Chocolate malt, this hearty porter finishes with traditional English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. Cheers!

Pours translucent sepia with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma is not strong, but promises roast malt and hints of caramel and chocolate. Flavor comes forth much stronger, presenting roast malt, woody, caramel, chocolate and nutty tones. Mouthfeel features average body but plenty of strong fizz.

Pours out a really nice dark brown color with a lingering tan head. The aroma is of roasted malt and mild coffee. The mouthfeel is just above average. The taste of dark roasted malt and coffee with a dry finish. This is a really good beer at a cheap price.

Part of their Winter Classics pack purchased in Vegas. Pours a clean deep cooper colour with a beige head, average retention and nice lacing. Roasted malt aromas with a decent amount of hops. Hints of molasses. The taste is pretty much the roasted malts with hops, creating a nice dryness. Apple notes lingering. Not your spicy holiday porter, but a hoppy dark brew.

pours a deep red to almost black, with a ok white head the dissipates in under 5 minutes. Lacing is minimal. The aroma is of caramel malts and of nutmeg spice. The taste is sweet malts at first with a taste of spice and banana maybe slightly. Also a nice bitterness that hangs around a while. The beer has a moderate carbonation and smooth finish.

Pours a dark brown/black with a small head that dissapates quickly. Aroma is of malts, chocale and coffee. Taste is mostly malts but has a hint of coffee. Mouthfeel is decent but finishes off dry. Not exactly may favorite beer but is drinkable. May have if offered.

Just revisited this beer in the 2011 holiday sampler. Very dark pour with a decent tan head. Aroma and taste are both chocolatey with plenty of sweet and roasted notes with a light coffee undertone. True to style; a decent porter.

Fairly large head. Toasty, roasty, caramel and a little chocolate. Goes down pretty well. Medium body. Not too sweet, not too dry. A solid beer, but nothing special.

From the 2010 winter sampler pack, first off the bottle i sampled was not good. Aroma was average some faint hints of roasted malts, appearance and mouthfeel were fine. Flavor was where it went down hill for me the taste was mostly metallic. I would be willing to re rate it again one day. Re-review on 11-16-11 bitter upfront but it mellowed as it warmed, metallic taste was gone, but not much in the flavor department. Up from a 2.7 to a 3.

Huge four finger head that dissipates leaving nice lacing, with an aroma of bread and yeast. Medium bodied, with a slightly roasted, yeast and caramel flavor and a bitter hops and spice aftertaste

Another beer from the holiday sampler. No head, but deep coffee brown in color. Some roasted chocolate malts, and a medium-light mouthfeel. Some real light coffee notes in the flavor. A good beer, but not one I would seek out on its own. A ridiculously average porter.
