The first time I tasted this beer, it appear to me that it had a rare taste, I was drinking Heineken before it, but when I tasted it again and drank it for the whole nigth I got the feeling for the smooth taste it has. Im trying to find it in the states but havent been able to.

Pours a thick creamy head, has good lacing and a dark amber colour. Mostly corn and malts from the aroma. Very light hops flavour with corn and a pretty average malty taste, a bit wheaty/cereal like. Not too bad, a go to beer, not amazing but will do the trick.

Clear amber red with brownish foam head. Lasting and lacing. Aroma is malty with some cherry tones. Taste is nice bittersweet with fruity tones, not overwhelming, crispy also. Aftertaste is crispy, not too bitter. (Montreal 201210)

This is the beer that for most Canadians was their gateway away from clear gold beers (those who didn't drink Guinness anyway). Colour - clear golden-copper, tan head. Aroma - metallic and acidic grans and a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel - thin to medium. Flavour - acidic grains with a bitter finish. Overall - decent.

This is probably my favourite session beer. It's available at every beer store, and liquor store in the land, and goes well with hockey and most of the food I indulge myself with.

Used to drink this a lot; tried it recently at Montanna's for the first time since I started exploring beers. Poured a nice clear amber colour with a light tan 2-3 cm head. Sweet malty smell, medium mouth feel and carbonation, but definitely lacking in complexity in the aftertaste. A good session beer and a nice option when there are not a lot of options!

Simply the best beer on tap at most Canadian Chain restaurants. For example a visit too Boston Pizza leaves me with the choice of this or freezing cold canned Guiness. I pick Rickards Red half the time. It is gentle, easy drinking, balanced, has a nice sweetness to it that disguises most of its swill routes, even if it could be just a flavoured syrup creating the "darker" flavour. Overall.... reasonable, at a chain restaurant with hot wings and deep dish pizza.

Pours a nice amber color with a thick head that laves a small amount of lacing. Has a good mouthfeel and a nice fruity somewhat bitter taste with a nice bitter follow.

This was a very good beer, and I liked it a great deal. It is a cloudy reddish brown beer that has a very malty aroma with hints of yeast. It feels full-bodied in my mouth with a good level of carbonation. The flavour is slightly malty with some fruity tones in the background. I would certainly recommend this to anybody.

The original review. A nice beer with a modicum of flavour. The colour is dark red-brown which looks very thick and the head varies. The aroma is non-descript compared to other beers, there are some slight malt and hop tinges, nothing overpowering. It has a lagery feel in the mouth which for me makes it a bit more palatable. The taste is a slightly sweet taste with a hint of malt. It tends to be a smooth brew which goes down quite well. I have recommended this to others.
2022 Re-Review
This is a re-review of a beer that I enjoyed immensely before becoming a beer hobbyist. This review is for the 473ml can purchased from one of the local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent red colour with a 1/2 inch white head that did not stick around. The aroma is sweet caramel malt with some hoppish tones. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The taste is stale sweet malt - and not much else. For swill - I still enjoy it. -

Very nice beer, great colour, nice refreshing taste a little too much on the sweet side, and leaves a citrus aftertaste. Very smooth on the way down, but no great aroma to mention...
