Bought up in Canada at The Beer Store, in Niagara Falls .. . drank 10/6/12, review done on my old laptop after spending 2 straight days fixing the fucker .. . pours a medium brown .. medium head, dissipates to a low ring .. . light bark, molasses, and chocolate covered pretzel .. . light mouth, nice pleasing bitterness .. . pretty good for what it is and who makes it, i enjoyed it- gave a sample to M.A, and she really liked it. so all and all, enjoyable but nothing really mindblowing.. . . i like spilling beers on the carpet, i can enjoy the beer for years after!!!!!!!!

I really like this beer. Colour - dark brown, slightly see-through when held to a bright light. Aroma - maple and roasted nuts. Mouthfeel - thin to medium. Flavour - roasted malt, sweet maple. Overall - good.

This is a porter as much as Bud Light is an IIPA. That said, it has more flavour than most beers from the Molson Coors conglomerate, and that can never be a bad thing.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, but to call it a porter is an outright lie, brown ale more likely. Dark brown but I’m still able to see through the glass, with a creamy quarter inch cap. Brew was served to me on tap and was more than ice cold, had to let it sit for 20 min before I could drink, I wanted to ball warm it but that might look odd in a pub with coworkers. Aroma is more than mild its practically nonexistent but if you try very hard and believe with all your might you can smell sweet roast malt with mild coffee. Taste is also week but thick??? Mild roast malt very mild coffee, lots of sweetness and some caramel with a very very very mild hop bitterness that is so faint I might have just imagined it was there. Mouth feel is the best part of this brew, it’s actually thick and smooth making this beer more than easy to drink. I got to say I don’t hate this beer and I will drink again on tap If there are no other choice but I’d never buy it a bottle for home use. If only the flavor was stronger this would have been ok because what could be tasted was good there just wasn’t enough of it. Good try Molson but you fell short of the mark yet again.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium brown color ale with a fizzy small head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of light roasted malt with no bitterness and lightly sweet adjunct dominated malt profile. Taste is also a mix between some light caramel with faint roasted malt. Body is way too thin for style with medium carbonation. Pointless.

On Tap: Puts a transparent clear dark brown liquid in the glass. Weak head vanishes in a minute, weak lacing on the glass. Aroma dominated with sweetness: sharp adjunct dextrins, light roastiness, hops undetectable. Up front taste has some grains but is dominated again by adjunct sweetness, weak body, thin mouth feel, fast tasteless finish...no dryness just a touch of sweet and roast grain. Where are the hops? Thin, weak, uninspired, poor representation of the style, Basically disappointing and pointless.

Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 22, 2010
I tried this beer on May 22, 2010 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark red with a half inch tan foamy head. The aroma is sweet roasted malt and a a little maple. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sour grainy malt, with a hint of maple sweetness. -

Nice to see that Molson is still creating new beers for Rickard's since they bought them. A darker one with maple syrup... sounds good. Pours a medium brown colour that is clear, with a big light brown frothy head that has good retention and leaves decent lace. The nose is malty, but very light, roasted and caramel mostly with notes of the maple syrup in the background. Watery medium-bodied mouthfeel. Taste of burnt malt (lightly) with a little hop in the finish, and the maple syrup shows up in the aftertaste. Nice and sweet, but not syrupy. Pretty decent for a Rickard's, but a bit light for a porter.

Brewed in the style of English Porters, but unfortunately, doesn't taste like one. Despite the lower than normal alcohol level for this beer, the alcohol could be tasted. IT's dark brown in colour with reddish hints. The head is tan, creamy, and 1/2" thick at best. The aroma is roasted malt with a hint of maple. The flavour is roasted malt with a hint of alcohol and a touch of sweetness. A valiant effort that won't satisfy porter lovers, and won't convert pale lager drinkers.
