I liked this beer, for the price as well as the taste. I only had one so Im not sure how well the beer works, but Im sure it does the trick, and a hell of a lot faster/better than most american brown ales.

This ale was nice and lite. It was ok in the mouth and was well put together. The aroma was like lite nut brown. After taste was nice and smooth/. It went nicely with KING CRAB and CHICKEN PARMESAN!! It had a pleaseant roast to it which was very nice.

Fairly typical brown ale, which is to say, pleasant enough but nothing special. I guess that's all i could have hoped for. I've only had a couple standouts from RH. Anywho, light roast and caramel, with a hint of nut and chocolate in the nose and aroma. A tad too carbonated.

search: hook nut .. . pours a deep tan .. light simple foam .. no real lacing .. . expired molasses, dead leaves, and pecan nut skin .. . watered down and way to simple .. . going out of your way and helping a neighbor rake leaves, thats being nice- holding the door open for a blind person- thats not being an asshole...

Pours a dark brown colour with a little tan head. Aroma is nutty with roasted almonds and soft honey. Lighter then what i would've enjoyed, taste has faint nutty characteristics and milk chocolate.

Deep brown color with hints of amber. The aroma was of peanuts, cashews, and some hints of carmel and oak. The flavor had some chocolate undertones with a good strong nutty flavor, added with a decent malt character. O.k. body, but still thin and acidic. Thanks Shag for lettin me steal it :)

Pours true brown with good clarity and nice lacing despite a shy head. This is a light, fruity version of a brown ale, I can only assume because of being a summer seasonal. The aroma is faint and balanced. The flavor is nutty-sweet, but quite light. Thin and somewhat watery, you could drink a few in the sun. I would have appreciated a bit more carbonation. Still, I agree with the majority of the other reviewers, that this is better than other Red Hooks Ive tried.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear, dark amber with a creamy off-white head and thick lacing. Aroma is bold with floral hops and hard candy. Sweet malt flavor also has some caramel and coffee. Some floral & spice hops also preasent. Medium-full body - quite full for the style - is moderately carbonated. Finished pretty clean with only a bit of hops lingering. An enjoyable beer - one that you could easily grab another one of when the first one is finished.

Poured a red-brown color with a small head that didn't lace much. The aroma was of bubblegum and light musty nuts. The flavor was too sweet and simple. Some nuts in the flavor with a touch of hops in the finish. Mouthfeel was rather light. Not bad, but below average. Drinkable, just boring in the end (like their ESB). More than one might give me a headache, though: too sweet.

This has to be the Budweiser of brown ales. Very little aroma or head...taste was bitter without much flavor at all. I'm always on the lookout for a decent cheap beer of a style I like...this wasn't it. Hopefully, the ESB will be better (since I bought one of those, too)...but I'm not hopeful after this pitiful showing.

A nice, mild yet flavorful beer. Once of those beers you can enjoy all on its own, in pairs, or more. Although I won't get this one again, it isn't THAT good, I did enjoy its character, kind of jovial yet subdued.
