Our mascot, Phil the Pelican, got this recipe from his long-lost Indian cousin, and has recreated the flavor of the British Empire with his own American twist. Enjoy the huge Cascade hop aroma, the subtle malty sweetness, and the spicy, citrusy flavor of this robust, gold colored ale. This brew began life as a seasonal beer during our first year and was so popular while we had it, and so frequently requested when it was gone, that we turned it into our fifth regular beer style the second year.

Yeah, I can definitely say I liked this brew too. Had it in a sampler tray and ordered a pint of it as well at Pelican in Pac City. Poured an intense copper colour. Nose was pretty dank. Taste was well stacked with hops. Big piney and floral characteristics.

From Firefly. Waited too long to buy this one - I still resent paying $10 for a single, but I thik this one was almost worth it. Poured a very cloudy, orange body beneath a creamy white head, and this was a head that was going to stay awhile. Both the aroma and taste were wonderfully hopped, and there were piney hints to both. Mouth was smooth and solid.

Got this at the brewery. Love that view! Pours a foggy amber, as it should with a thick full head. Very hopy, with a sweet citrus begining. A nice body and smooth mouthfeel. Dry after taste. This is what an IPA should be

the aroma was clean and smelled of pine and fruit. the taste is a nice malty beer up front then the great hop flavor comes in and it has a great fruit flavor. great beer from one of the best locations for a brewery i've ever seen.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head and good lacing. Nice aroma of hops, pine, and citrus. Good mouthfeel to it. Flavor was bursting with orange and grapefruit, and the finish had a pine-like taste to it. A very nice IPA.

Bottle generously shared by Slob. Appearance was hazy golden to amber in color, white head, good retention, nicely recreated with a swirl. The aroma was strong amber ale-like, citrus, pine, and caramel. The flavor followed the aroma, pine hops first, citrus second, caramel underneath, along with a presumably hop-originated spicey character. The mouthfeel was very full, a big beer in heartiness and hoppiness. Thanks, Bert, for the wonderful opportunity on this one.

Amber with creamy tan head. Juicy and floral grapefruit aroma, notes of pines and peaches. Dry bitter flavour of oranges and grapefruit. Long grassy bitter finish.

This one pours a clear copper/amber. It has plenty of cascade hoppiness in the aroma and it is a touch grassy. Fairly dry body. Leafy, slightly astrinent hops.

09.30.05 Tap at Falling Rock Hazed amber gold wtih thick and lasting froth of white. This was one of my favorites of the GABF weekend. Great balance all around from sniff to swallow. Plenty of lively eff to keep the palate clean. Huge IPA with thick and chewy malts, tropical fruit sweetness, lots of citrus and especially grapefruit. Sticky dry finish. Finish is long, citrus, wheatgrass. Just outstanding. I drank far too much of this goodness. The combination of peppery spice, grassy, plus citrusy hops is irresistible to me.

Bottled. Dark golden colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Apricot/peach and other fruits in aroma along with hops. Strong hoppy and fruity flavour. Long hoppy aftertaste.
