Actually classified as an India Black Ale, which I suppose is a cross between American Black ale and IPA. Brews in this style are usually hit or miss for me. This was more of a miss than a hit. Not bad, perhaps just a little too hoppy which overpowers the black malt. Flavor could be an 8, but not quite there because balance could be better. Mouthfeel has a decent semi-creamy texture. I prefer their stout or porter over this if going dark.
