Light golden amber color with a wall of hops in the nose. Solid bitterness and slightly tart flavor with just enough malt to balance. Very crisp finish. Clean beer - hops are not competing with too much sweet malt/carmel like many double IPAs. Pure hop heaven through and through.

Not one of the better DIPAs out there. The balance is off. Little too sweet, not enough hops....something like that. There seems to be a decent amount of hops in there, just not bitter enough to offset the sweetness. Has a semi-clear gold to light orange appearance. This single sample was more than enough for me.

A little flat and lifeless for a west coast IIPA. Don't know what the bottled date was but hopefully it was just old. No real punch of hops in any part of it, it was bitter but that's about it. Just unremarkable.

From Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace, in a bomber. 9.7% ABV. My nose received an immediate blast of hops and pine resin. Foamy ivory head, two fingered and ring creating it was. The alcohol began to make itself evident in the aroma and the flavour had the alcohol (no burn, though), hops, pine, bit of caramel sweetness. No citrus anywhere, pretty okay mouthfeel. Nice enough, but I can get a SN Torpedo at the same store for $4 less.

Sampled this in the same day and place as the Trestles. Bottle says Left Coast Hop Juice. Tons of pine resin mingling with caramel malts. Extremely well balanced. Again, this guy has tons of white thick foam on top. For as much as I enjoyed the balance of this beer, I was expecting something slightly different from something called "hop juice." Dry and bitter finish.

Had as Left Coast Hop Juice, 22oz bottle, 9.7% abv, bought at Specs- Clear Lake #6 store .. . Pours a medium caramel orange amber .. medium foam .. . sap, caramel, cellar wood, moist pine needles, and some more caramel .. . quite a good dose of malt and booze, also some over aged flavour, the typical TX ipa feel- if you will ... nay, we straight .. . Reminds me a bit of dfh 120, just the light version .. . . we went to go see the goonies, oh wait- i wasn't supposed to tell you that...

Picked up in a Seattle bottleshop due to the name although I should have paid more attention to the lack of any freshness dating. Although a good DIPA with a huge hop presence, I feel this would have been much better maybe a month or two earlier. I would like to try a fresher version and see how it compares.

A malt heavy IIPA for sure, some pine in the flavor and the aroma but mostly caramel malt. Mouthfeel slightly stickey, with some carbonation, body a hazy orange, not much head or lace to speak of. Needs a bit more hop presence.

1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle, as Left Coast’s Hop Juice Double IPA, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.4%. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of fruity and resinous hops, notes of orange marmalade. The medium sweet flavour has intense hops from start to finish, as expected. Notes of resin, pine needles and bitter oranges. Bitter and sharp aftertaste, of course - and the alcohol is not well hidden.

was intruiged by the name on a visit to Oggi's in SoCal. while it was a decent beer, it didn't live up to the self invented hype. grapefruit and a little bit of tropical fruit. more balalnced than i expected, but not quite as pungently hoppy as i hoped for.

It pours a light amber with thick off-white head and copious lacing. A bready & malty aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit, some mango, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of bready caramel malts, hops, citrus/grapefruit juice, pine, mango, and spiciness. Truly a pleasure to try this.
