Poured a dark black color with good head not much lacing. Aroma was lots of smoke and ash, some alcohol as well. Flavor was lots of the same, chocolate as well as some whiskey in there. Not a bad beer nothing amazing though.

Bottle 607 of 960, courtesy of doulos31/goodgrief. The pour was brown-black in color, nice white (bright) head, spotty lacing. The aroma was smoke/rauch first and foremost, meaty beechwood smoking, light booziness. The flavor was smoke/rauch, whiskey, chocoalte, faint roasty, some molasses. The mouthfeel was light and acidic. An ok brew, really enjoyed the smokey elements, not so much the whiskey aging. Thanks for sharing, Tom!

Dark pour white head and little lacing. Strong aroma of whisky drowns out most of what else might be in the beer. The flavor was lots of whisky over a hugely smokey porter with roast and bacon. Moderate to high carbonation on the tongue. The flavors were all harsh and this detracted from my overall enjoyment. Still, not horrible.

From a bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with almost no head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Whiskey presense is obvious. Mouthfeel is a little thinner than I expected. This was pretty cold when I first poured it and had almost no flavor. As it warmed though, the flavor started to come through. Subtle sweetness with a whiskey undertone, alcohol burn at the end. A really good beer, but a little pricey.

Bottle. Pours a blackish-brown color with a thin light-brown head and little-to-no-lacing. Strong aroma of vanilla, whiskey, and wood. Very nice. Easy-drinking mouthfeel. Flavor is very complex and balanced. Flavors of whiskey and vanilla are strong, but the smoked malt is still very apparent. Not sure it is worth the price ($9.99 for a bomber), but a very nice beer.

Pours with a blast of an aroma for an aged beer, hardwood smoke, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, wood, some mild oxidation (the good kind) and malt. Dark brown, very dark, small stand of head. Smooth, very smooth in the mouth and soft carbonations. I would like a bit more CO2 prickle...but honestly, I'm not complaining. Rich and balanced flavor, complimenting the aromatics and taking their lead perfectly. An excellent variation on a personal favorite. I was hesitant about this being in the wood for a year, but I must say, its done quite nicely for itself. Thanks, O'Fallon. EDIT: I had a taste of the new batch out of a Buffalo Trace Barrel...holy crap, if they bottle this at the right time, it has the potential to be something really phenomenal...even then it was excellent...I'll wait to update my numbers until the new release hits the shelves.
