meh. odd that its an amber and odder still that its a northwoods beer and yet its called red cedar since red cedar is native to the western states and white cedar is what we have in wisconsin, but maybe there's some on the brewer's property. Sour like some red ales I've had and sour aroma. funky.

Aroma is a bit sour, but malty. A copper colored red with a big white head that fizzes away fairly quickly. Mouthfeel is medium to light, some water on the back end. Flavor is quite mild, not too amazing. A session beer without being anything overly great.

A cloudy bronze-colored beer with an off-white foamy head but and a subtle maltiness in the nose. Caramel malt flavor predominates, with a moderate amount of hops in the finish. Unfortunately, some off-flavors as well. One of the better Northwoods brews, but still far from satisfying.
