A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry. BEER FACTS Birthdate: February, 2013 ABV: 8.5% IBU: 85 Calories: 230 Hops: Mosaic, Calypso, Centennial Malts: Pale, Black Fruits/Spice: Lemon Peel Body: Medium-Light Aroma: Prominent lemon citrus and floral hop aroma and flavor including some nice dry-hopped fresh grass and spicy pine notes. Mouthfeel: Warmth from alcohol is present but not conspicuous. Nice dry finish from carbonation and glass full of bitter hops. Flavor: Hint of sweetness in the background from malt, the rest is a story of ambitious but not overwhelming bitterness. Visual: Golden with solid white foam and a slight hop sheen.

Quite an average beer for an Imperial IPA from NB. Have to keep sniffing to find out what the odd background aroma is,over ripe something and flowers. Flavour is flowery, pine, gapefruit, window cleaner orange and sweet malt. Maybe should have rated this a little lower because I expected more.

Clear dark yellow, big fluffy lasting lacing foam head. Bittersweet aroma and taste. Had higher expectations of this beer, however Lasting aftertaste. (Houston 201505)

Comes out of the tap a clear, bubbly golden with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled cream-white head. Hearty aroma is royally hoppy with more than a hint of fruit - more at pomme than citrus. Flavor has plenty of hops, mainly woody, not as bitter as the description promises, but who cares - this is a more than decent Double IPA with citrus and resiny undertones. And yes, a hint of peach. Finish is indeed dry, fizzy and hoppy. A rampant beer that demands respect!

Hop bomb. Standard, but slightly above average DIPA....golden orange color, white head & decent lacing. Requisite resin & citrus aroma and flavor. Nice, but starting to become routine.

A deep orange-amber colored beer with a big frothy textured, off-white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. It settles into a moderate ringlet. A floral-citric hopped nose. That same hopped presence is well balanced by sweet malt. A medium bodied, smoothness on the palate.

Celebrating review 2000 and my first American Thanksgiving in the USA. Bought at Albertsons in Vegas. Pours a clean pale golden colour with a huge frothy white head, good retention and sticky soap lacing. Nice fresh grassy hop aromas with a little citrus, pine and grapefruit. The taste though is kind of not fresh. Old oranges, medium bitterness and mildly piney. Thought this would of been good for this review, but it is not.

A moderate yet restrained hop presence in the aroma, that seems out of place for an IIPA. Dank, tropical fruits, and some pine. I'd love to have the aroma pumped up a lot. I noticed a lot of the backend booziness first, before the hops, which isn't a good thing. Yes, hops are present with orange rind, tropical fruit/peach juice with some nuttiness. But the alcohol kind of wrecks things. Not bad for a starter IIPA to begin someone with. I had much higher expectations though from NB. -

From Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace, in a bomber. How does this compare with the SN Torpedo I've just finished? Foamy white head over a medium gold pour. Aroma had an unsettling component to it...cabbage? Not hops, pine, or citrus for the nose here? Flavour does indeed have the as-advertised peach element. But why peach? At least it tastes better than it smells, but really, this is not as good as NB's Ranger.

Amber with a white head. Aroma contains caramel, citrus, and pine. Flavor is bitter with lemons and grapefruit. Aftertaste is bitter with a malt presence. Well balance beer and overall a very good beer.

Golden orange pour, white head with decent lacing. Decent carbonation. Peaches, light grapefruit, honey and nice malt presence in both the nose and palate. Nice addition to their lineup, but overall just another big IPA. Still worth a try though.
