poured this one out in a bright copper with a huge white head...I have a bit of a cold so I can't smell much...appearance is as you would think a dark copper. Mouthfeel is full and leaves just a bit and you wanting more...Flavor really reminds me of New belgiums previous offering of mighty arrow. REally hoppy yet crisp flavor...Not bitter like some pale ales..really good brew overall

12oz bottle. Pours a clear copper gold with a medium white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is wheaty malts and fruity hops. The hops are well done - I've had Sorachi Ace and Nelson Sauvin that were too over the top.
The flavor is sweet bready caramel malts and honey with some grassy, fruity, resiny hops that have decent bitterness for a pale ale. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a solid pale ale with good bitterness and nice hop profile. Nice to see that NBB can do something with hops that I like. -

I think this is a really nice and refreshing beer. It is well hopped - piney in the front citrusy on the back. The beer is just slightly on the oily side. This beer smells great ... hops, hops , hops.

Very surprised by the nose of this, like the front yard in spring time, you really get that earthy freshness that they intended. A decent pale ale, nice clean flavors and easy drinking, simply done and done well.

it may be Mighty Arrow's equal with some time, but so far the replacer falls juuuust short of the replacee. Very nice pale, though, just wish they did both. nice hoppy aroma and bitterness for an apa. the flavor really shines with the odd sorachi lemony-soapiness and the tropical fruit. wish there was more of that in the aroma, but it's still pretty dang nice.

Sampled on 3/1/2012. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, citrusy, grapefruity and grapey. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy, grapey and lemony. The hops used in this beer Sorachi Ace and Nelson Sauvin, always gives me trouble trying to describe them. I can usually pick them out but I can never figure out exactly what they taste like. I like the taste of the hops, I just can’t figure out how to describe them. Anyway… Nice carbonation. Nice crisp and clean tasting Pale Ale. There are a lot of flavors in this beer. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Copper color with a white head. The aroma is pine, caramel, and oranges. The flavor is rather bitter with some citrus and caramel. Well balanced with some malt presence. Overall this is a good pale ale.

This is an easy-drinking brew, one I could see consuming several of in a sitting. Pours a clear orange with a fizzy white head. Aroma of lemons, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Taste is similar but with noticeable malt breadiness. Finishs out lightly bitter. An interesting and unique pale ale.

Lemony over grapefruit, sweet malt, exotic background flavor, warm and springlike. The best dish I think that would go with this beer would be trout almondine, and I also think that it would go well with spring rolls, lumpia, crab and sushi. This one would be a good one for picnics, reminiscing, art show openings, museum openings, sushi parties, and parties where you want to have more than one beer but you also want to savor and remember each moment.

On tap @ Barleys in Knoxville. Clear amber pour, thinnish white head, nice lacing. Aromas of citrus lemons and key limes, some peaches, light malts, honeysuckle. Flavor is not overpoweringly hoppy - light citrus and lemons, a honey malt sweetness, clean. Nice if not understated.
