This black American IPA is a collaboration between Midtfyns Brewery and the winner of the Carl Nielsen, Danish and Nordic Championships in hand brew, Claus Christensen of Munkebo Micro Brew. It is brewed with a unique blend of the most powerful American hop varieties giving a perfect balance of hops and notes from the roasted barley. Gleipner is Fenris chain. It is forged by mountain roots and kattepoters noise. Beware, once you've tasted it once, you are chained to Ragnarok comes.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.1%, 186 IBU, 71 EBC. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large and lasting beige head. Delightful aroma of American hops, notes of citrus (incl. orange marmalade) and tropical fruits, also pine, hints of coffee. The flavour is medium sweet with notes of chocolate and mild coffee, but first and foremost well hopped, with citrussy and resinous hops throughout. The bitterness is, however, not as extreme as I feared , but solid enough. Another fine beer from Midtfyns and home brewer Claus Christensen.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Quite much black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is hops, roasted malts, some toasted notes as well as quite nectary notes. Flavour is being the same along with some slight yeastyness and mild earthyness.
