pours a brown color with a small head of cocoa that seemed to hang just long enough for it to coat the glass then settling back to a broken crown that barely coats the sides of the glass. The aroma is mixed bag, lots of caramel and cocoa notes with a hint of earth hops, but it just seemed pushed together without any real balance to it. The flavor is not as bad as the aroma, but still kind of rushed together. The mouthfeel has a creamy finish.

Weak. Nastiness in a bottle. How can they just put "black & tan" in a bottle anyway? It just doesn't work - for any brewer, but the Mich is just bad. Hopefully I'll not have to endure another.

a weak lighter ale blended with a weak dark ale. not revolting, but i had it on tap with a pizza and beyond the crispness and tiny bit of malt, there's nothing there...

Why call this a black and tan? I thought a black and tan was when you mixed Guinness and Bass? A weak beer, but a beer nonetheless that should be tried only for novelty.

I don't think i would consider this a black and tan in the least bit. Pours a watery dark but clear brown colour. no head, aroma is sweet mouthfeel is light and somewhat dry.

Served at Montclair Days, my neighborhood beach party. My other choices were Miller Lite and Bud. Black and tan is a "style" I don't get--really more a recipie than a style--anyway, the question is, "Why wreck a good stout?" In the case of Michelob's Black and Tan, I suspect the answer has to do with covering up a weak stout. This is a thin bodied and feeble tasting toy beer. So, the beer at our beach party was so-so at best. Well, at least it didn't rain.

I'm not a fan of michelob by any means. This was as poor a tasting black and tan as I have had. I'm just glad i got it in a sampler pack so i didn't have to have more than one of these.

Pours dark brown to black, nice tan head, very nice nose, quite pleasing to the palate. I wouldn't consider it a porter and it isn't a classic black and tan (Guiness/Bass) but it is very good for Anheuser Busch. Not you typical American Brew. I bought it in a Michelob Seasonal Variety Pack and I liked it a lot. I would recommend this one. Quite surprising.

My first Black and Tan in a bottle. I was hooked! My opinion back then would not be fair today since I had nothing to compare it to when I first tried it. I do remember liking it and wanting more. This beer opened up my eyes to start trying darker beer. Good taste and a good price.

I have only seen this beer once and I tried it and it was pretty good and I enjoyed it. The appearance was very dark with a nice tan head. The mouthfeel was strong and full with a flavor of roasted hops and malts. This a very good beer but I just cannot find it anywhere but if you see it, get and try it.
